How to get Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 1
To get the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to defeat the Gnolls outside a cave on Risen Road during Act 1.
After crossing the river that sits North of the Blighted Village, head Northwest. Here, you will come across some Hyenas that are writhing in pain. If you inspect one of them, you’ll have the option to put it out of its misery. You should, because if you don’t, you’ll have to fight against Gnolls.
Once you’ve gotten rid of the Hyenas, search the ‘Dead Caravan Agent’ and read the Shipment Orders. You will then start the quest ‘Find the Missing Shipment,’ which should lead you to a cave where two men are trying to fight off a big pack of Gnolls.
The exact coordinates of the cave are X: -10, Y: 513, and the location has also been marked in the image below:
The easiest way to defeat the Gnolls is to convince the Gnoll Warlord with your Illithid powers to fight against her own pack with you. Once they have all been defeated, you can pass a check, and she will destroy herself.
Once the enemies are defeated, there are a few ways to get the Iron Flask out of the Caravan Sandbox:
- Kill the men in the cave and open the chest.
- Use dialogue to convince the men in the cave to give you the chest.
- Lockpick the chest while talking to the men.
In any of these scenarios, you must pass the DC 20 Lockpicking check, so we recommend bringing along an ally with a Sleight of Hand proficiency.
How to get Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 3
If you didn’t manage to get it in Act 1, you can find the Iron Flask in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Guildhall.
To find the Guildhall, go immediately right when you enter Baldur’s Gate through the Basilisk Gate. Alternatively, travel to the Basilisk Gate waypoint and go through the small street immediately behind it. To the right close to the entrance of this street, you will find a manhole that will take you to the sewers.
To your left as you enter, there will be a breakable wall. Break it down with bludgeoning damage, and go through the hole. Follow the path until you reach a door that says ‘No Entry – No Exit’ and lockpick it. This is the entrance to the Guildhall.
Once inside, find Slick Inatra and try to pickpocket it from her. If this fails, you can also loot it later from her corpse.

- Use it at the Goblin Camp when you’re taking down the army of Goblins in Act 1.
- You can use the Iron Flask and its Spectator as a distraction against Ketheric Thorn or Chosen of the Dead Three between Acts 2 and 3.
- The Moonrise Towers fight contains plenty of enemies and the Spectactor can make light work of them.
