Baldur’s Gate 3 character respec explained
In Baldur’s Gate 3, character respec lets you reset every skill point and distribute them all over again, as per your preference. This simple feature ensures that you have the choice of changing things up whenever you want.
With many games, leaving out some of the best skills and abilities can go unnoticed, but with Baldur’s Gate 3 having deep ties to Dungeons and Dragons, none can go to waste.
How to respec your Baldur’s Gate 3 character
To access the respec option, you’ll have to seek out the NPC Withers who’ll help you respec your character. This character can be found in the Dank Crypt north of where the ship crashed at the start of the game.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Head to the Dank Crypt.
- Use lockpicks to access the crypt.
- Head into the first chamber ahead.
- Collect a key from the sarcophagus in the center of the room.
- Go to the next chamber.
- Press the button near the statue.
- Head through the door to Withers’ sarcophagus.
- Talk to Withers to recruit him.
How to recruit Withers & unlock respec in Baldur’s Gate 3
Now that you’ve recruited Withers, you must simply pay him 100 Gold, and he’ll allow you to access the character creation screen. He’ll be hanging out by the boat in the water at your camp, so you can interact with him there.
