Simple Baldur’s Gate 3 tricks make The Hag’s lair easy to escape

The Hag in Baldur's Gate 3

The Hag is one of the more difficult boss fights you can find in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, and many players often struggle to beat her without the right tactic. Thankfully, some of them have come up with a lot of interesting ways to take her down without much hassle.

One of the best is using Arcane Lock on the secret doorway to her lair to ensure she never gets to it. She’ll then remain in the house, and use all her turns trying to get out.

It’s a really great method to make sure that you don’t get the tough battle in her lair, and you can skip out on all the other traps and enemies you come across in there as well.

However, if you’ve not used this method and you’re in her lair with her, she can be very tough to take down. Thankfully there are some spells that can make the fight easier, and many players found that Silence was one of the best ways to shut her down.

Silence is a Level 2 Illusion spell, so you can get it pretty early on in the game, and it creates a dome around a target where they are unable to use any magic. As a result, you’ll shut down the Hag’s ability to cast her Mirror Image ability and any other spells she uses.

Sussur weapons are a great choice against the Hag.

As another player suggested, an easier way to get this done is to use Sussur Weapons against her. You can craft these by completing the Forge the Masterwork Weapon quest in the Blighted Village and getting Sussur Bark from the Underdark.

The Sickle and Dagger will Silence a target when you hit them, having the same effect as the spell. It can be stronger because the Hag can move out of the Silence bubble that the spell casts, but make sure you hit her before she has a chance to cast her Mirror Image.

One player suggested that in the case that she does cast her spell in time, there’s also a simple solution to that issue. “If she does make duplicate images, you magic missile all of them,” ‘gijimayu’ explained on Reddit

The Hag can be intimidating to take on, but as long as you have the right strategy, you can take her down without a hitch. Since Patch 7 is releasing soon, be sure to keep this in mind for your next playthrough.
