There will be a variety of different weapons to test out when Battlefield 2042 finally arrives, and new leaks have revealed what ammo types you’ll be able to use, including explosive rounds.

Fans have been eager for more Battlefield 2042 reveals, and we’ve recently gotten a closer look at the game’s new Specialists, open betamassive maps, and new game modes.

There will also be a wide assortment of weapons available in the highly anticipated game. Now, some new leaks have revealed some of the ammunition types that you will get to use, including explosive ammo.

These leaks came from Battlefield data miner temporyal, who discovered various different light, medium, and heavy ammunition types that you’ll be able to use when Battlefield 2042 finally arrives.

“Looks like we’ll be getting interesting options like a KRISS Vector with subsonic ammo or M44 with explosive rounds. Of course, there will be a certain amount of balancing restrictions,” the leaker tweeted.

While it’s unlikely that explosive rounds will be available for Assault Rifles, you might potentially get to use them with Sniper Rifles to blow up your foes from a distance.

Although these ammunition types sound exciting, a few fans are concerned about the gameplay issues they might create balance-wise. You could spawn in a match, only to get blown up eight seconds later.

“They have explosive and incendiary rounds in GTA Online and let’s just say it’s one reason why I don’t engage in PvP in that game. This makes me worried,” tweeted one player.

It’s worth keeping in mind that these are currently just leaks, and we’ll be sure to update you if the developers confirm this information. For more Battlefield 2042, check out our hub on the Hazard Zone mode.
