Battlefield 2042 devs respond to “oppressive” bullet spread mechanic

Battlefield 2042 players instantly reacted negatively to the game’s random bullet spread mechanic, and DICE have responded to the concerns.

Battlefield 2042 has finally arrived but the bullet spread mechanic making gunfights extremely frustrating for players is an issue, and the devs have issued a response.

Battlefield 2042 has now entered early access, and players are still familiarizing themself with everything Portal, Hazard Zone, and All-Out Warfare have to offer.

However, Battlefield 2042 features a bullet spread mechanic which is frustrating players. This is also in Vanguard but appears to be much stronger in Battlefield. With the way the guns are designed, bullets don’t go exactly where you aim – leading to randomness in gunfights.

After player backlash, DICE’s Lead Game Designer has responded to the concerns.

Ever since Battlefield 2042 launched, players complained that something felt off about gunfights. Reddit user JetW77 demonstrated exactly what the issue is, showing off the significant bullet spread.

Even though the reticle was directly on a stationary enemy, JetW77’s DM7 completely missed every shot, with the bullets going in wild directions. And the Reddit user isn’t the only one affected by this issue, with the Battlefield 2042 subreddit full of clips showcasing bullets going in random directions.

One user said the bullet spread “makes DMR’s absolutely useless. I’m sick of hitting about 10% of my shots with them.” Another said that “They better fix this, this is 1000% unacceptable.”

DICE has confirmed they’re aware of the issue after Twitter user VII Catalyst tweeted that Battlefield 2042’s “gunplay has me having 0% confidence in my gunskill.”

“I’ve competed against the best BF players in the world,” they continued. “I shouldn’t be questioning taking a gunfight against ‘BillyBob374’ because of unreadable/oppressive spread and hitreg issues.”

DICE’s Lead Game Designer, Florian Le Bihan, was tagged in the replies. He responded, “Thanks for the tag, we’re looking at weapons already and are planning on a few changes regarding spread. Not date or specifics to share for the changes yet though.”

So DICE is aware of the feedback and is looking at bullet spread, but there’s no sign of a release date for the fix.

Battlefield 2042 devs finally respond to game-breaking invisibility glitch

The Battlefield 2042 developers have responded to a game-breaking glitch that’s causing players to become invisible.

An extremely irritating Battlefield 2042 glitch is causing players to spawn in the game completely invisible. Thankfully, developers DICE have confirmed a fix for this game-breaking problem.

You’ll find no shortage of fun content in Battlefield 2042, like Portal which lets you create your own game modes. However, there are also major glitches like the one that can cause your mouse to get stuck on PC.

Another bug that has been plaguing the game is one that causes players to spawn into a match completely invisible. This caught the attention of the developers who have now promised a fix for it.

Helicopter in Battlefield 2042

Reddit user ‘sterrre’ showcased this bug in a short clip that they posted in the Battlefield 2042 subreddit. “I spawned invisible when trying to spawn on a friendly MAV,” wrote the Redditor.

While they had no plans to use this exploit to their advantage, other players might not show such restraint. It makes it impossible for enemies to see you, which makes the game feel unbalanced.

After the Redditor reported this bug, Kevin Johnson, DICE’s Community Manager, responded to the issue. He said: “Hi! This should be fixed once we deploy our next update, Update 3.1. Thanks for reaching out.”

At the time of writing, we don’t know when exactly this update will release. Since Update #3 arrived on December 2, we expect the developers to release Update 3.1 in the near future.

This bug seems to be caused by spawning on a vehicle. “If you spawn on a vehicle and all the seats fill up while deploying it’ll spawn the player invisible outside of the vehicle,” theorized one user.

Hopefully, the next major update patch will sort out this issue along with many of the glaring problems being faced by Battlefield 2042 players since the game’s launch. Once it arrives, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Battlefield 2042 devs respond after players slam Santa Claus Holiday skin

DICE have responded to the major player criticisms of the Santa Claus Holiday-themed skin in Battlefield 2042.

Santa Claus in Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 players weren’t too happy when DICE added a Santa Claus Holiday-themed skin to the game, and now the developers have responded to the criticism.

There is a plethora of fun content in Battlefield 2042, and the developers decided to get players into the holiday spirit by adding a Santa Claus skin to the game. However, this cosmetic was heavily criticized.

Many fans roasted the skin, stating that it was too “goofy” and didn’t fit the serious tone of Battlefield. This led to a response from the developers, who explained their decision to create this skin.

Various Battlefield 2042 players stated that the Santa Claus Holiday-themed skin doesn’t suit the tone of the game. Some felt that a cosmetic like this belongs in a light-hearted title like Fortnite.

The Battlefield Direct Communication Twitter account responded by letting players know that they didn’t plan to reveal the Holiday-themed cosmetics and then clarified their actual purpose in the game.

They made it clear that while they designed these cosmetic skins, they “presently have no plans to utilize all of them this Holiday.” Instead, they were mostly meant for a “single-time use” in Portal modes.

“Throughout our live service, you may occasionally encounter these mode locked cosmetics, which don’t impact the rest of the game,” they tweeted. Meaning that some of these are just special cosmetics that aren’t meant to represent the overall tone of the game.

There were a variety of different reactions from players in the replies. Some of them expressed their relief that these types of skins are not going to be the norm in Battlefield 2042, while others labelled this response as “damage control.”

“Not a chance in hell,” replied one user. “You think they’d tease holiday skins, before the holidays, without intending to use them before the backlash?” This was a sentiment shared by quite a few repliers.

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen whether or not the Santa Claus skin will still be a part of the game after the criticism it received from fans. The developers might have some surprises planned for the Holiday season.
