A year after EA’s Battlefield 2042 release and Xbox fans are still wondering if it will be on Xbox Game Pass. New developments confirm that its status is set to change.

Battlefield 2042 has been a journey that EA perhaps did not expect to experience. What was supposed to be the return to form for the FPS franchise saw its fair share of ups and downs. Luckily, the game seems to be in its best state at the moment with players enjoying what it has to offer in Season 2.

Previously, players were frustrated with the lack of updates and the game’s unfinished state but it has since received many updates that addressed ongoing issues and improved the overall quality of the game before the arrival of Season 3.

The game is still currently a normal release in stores, but could this be changing for Battlefield 2042 Xbox Game Pass users very soon?

Battlefield 2042 is not currently available on the Xbox Game Pass service, but the devs announced that it would be available on the platform soon.

This is no surprise seeing as popular EA titles usually tend to feature on Microsoft’s video game subscription service, so it was only natural that Battlefield 2042 became a part of it eventually.

When is Battlefield 2042 coming to Xbox Game Pass?

According to EA, Battlefield 2042 is finally coming to Xbox Game Pass at the start of Season 3.

Although an official release date for Battlefield 2042 Season 3 has yet to be confirmed, leakers have hinted at November 22 as the date to keep an eye out for. In addition, the devs have confirmed that players are “only a few weeks away from the start of Season 3.”

The full Battlefield 2042 game will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Access subscribers.

EA Play, EA’s subscription service, is also part of Xbox Game Pass. Almost the entire backlog of Battlefield games is available to Game Pass owners if you’d like to try out some of the older titles before Battlefield 2042’s highly anticipated Game Pass arrival.
