BOCW’s AK-74u is an extremely strong SMG in Warzone Season 2, so here are the best attachments to maximize its potential.

Warzone AK-74u loadout

The AK-74u is an incredibly strong Black Ops Cold War weapon in Warzone Season 2, so here are the best attachments and perks to dominate close-mid range combat.

Although you could create an AK-74u through Modern Warfare’s Gunsmith, it had high recoil and lackluster damage. However, Black Ops Cold War has allowed players to wield this fan-favorite SMG as it’s meant to be.

Taking the AK-74u into Warzone will give you a powerful weapon that can be vastly improved with the right attachments. Here’s the best AK-74u loadout and perks to bring into Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Best AK-74u Warzone loadout

Best Warzone AK-74u attachments
  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 9.3″ VDV Reinforced
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: 40 Rnd Drum

This AK-74u is built to dominate up close, while also being useful in medium-range situations. You’ll be surprised at how fast this weapon can rip off plates and down enemies. Pair this with a Sniper Rifle and your loadout will be effective no matter how far away your target is.

First, we’ve added the GRU Suppressor. This works the same as Modern Warfare’s Monolithic Suppressor, boosting the SMG’s damage at range while keeping you off the minimap. To make the weapon more versatile and effective over distance, the 9.3″ VDV Reinforced barrel will increase its damage range.

To make you as accurate as possible, the Spetsnaz Grip is your best bet. This gives a significant reduction to both vertical and horizontal recoil, allowing for precise shots even at medium range.

For ammunition, we’ve gone with the 40 Rnd Drum. With an SMG, you want to be as mobile as possible and some of the mags reduce your ADS speed. The standard 40 round doesn’t impact your mobility, only reducing your reload speed, which is a worthwhile tradeoff. And finally, to increase your movement speed while shooting, the KGB Skeletal Stock is an excellent choice.

Best perks to use with Warzone AK-74u

A weapon loadout is only as good as its perks, so here are the best player upgrades to use with the AK-74u.

Warzone Overkill perk
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill (and then Ghost)
  • Perk 3: Amped

With many players using Semtex and C4 to get the upper hand in a fight, E.O.D will allow you to tank an onslaught of explosive damage.

The AK-74u will lose a lot of power over distance, so use Overkill to equip it with a long-range weapon such as a sniper or Assault Rifle.

Keep the ’74u with these attachments in a loadout with Ghost too, so if you collect a second loadout, you can have both weapons and be hidden from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.

If you’re swapping from your primary weapon to secondary, you want this swap to be as fast as possible. The Amped perk increases weapon switch speed, stopping you from being defenseless while changing guns.

How to unlock the AK-74u in Warzone

The AK-74u is simple to unlock, you just need to hit level 19 while playing Warzone or Black Ops Cold War. This shouldn’t take long, simply play the game for a couple of hours and you’ll quickly unlock it.

Best AK-74u alternatives in Warzone Season 2

The AK-74u is best suited for close-medium range engagements, so you’ll want weapons that perform similarly. The Bullfrog is an excellent Cold War SMG with an insanely strong headshot multiplier, and the AS VAL is an Assault Rifle with one of the fastest time-to-kills in the game.

Use the AK-74u and these perks at close to medium range, and you’ll find yourself using an excellent accompaniment to Sniper Rifles in Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Roze Skin - COD: Warzone

Raven Software has dropped a preview of some changes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone with the Season 3 update.

The studio responded to a big Twitter thread by YouTuber CourageJD. Courage dropped a list of major changes he wants to see to bring Warzone back to a better place, especially with a lot of the fan complaints.

Raven Software replied to CourageJD’s thread with a preview of some of the changes the studio is making to Call of Duty: Warzone soon, including many coming with Season 3 update on April 22.
