Best Apex Legends Season 7 controller layout settings

Movement is king in Apex Legends’ and this controller layout will give you a leg up on the enemy during Season 7.

Octane jumping in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Season 7 is well underway, and if you’re looking to gain an advantage over your opponents or keep up with players using mouse and keyboard, then this controller layout may give you a leg up on opponents.

While mastering your Legend, perfecting your aim, and learning spots are all supremely important in the hunt for victories, movement is king in Apex Legends. It can be the difference between winning a gunfight or heading back to the lobby disappointed.

Whether you’re using a controller or keyboard, making sure you have the right button layout is extremely important if you hope to become a movement master. For those using gamepads to play, Reddit user xChallen6er has created a layout that should give you a boost around Olympus.

This layout makes it much easier for players to jump and crouch, moving these two options to places where your hands will be naturally. Players can press the right thumbstick down to jump, something which will be easily done as your thumb rarely leaves that stick anyway.

Elsewhere, placing crouch on L1 or LB depending on whether you use PlayStation or Xbox works perfectly as you will have your left hand there anyway, ready to aim down the sights of your weapon using L2/LT respectively.

Your character’s ultimate ability will move to X/A, meaning you don’t have to move your thumb or finger as far to access.

Of course, this is a drastic change from the normal controls, so you may need to spend some time practicing before you master it.

It could be worth learning though, as improving your movement will not only help you move around Olympus with ease, but will also make you a harder target to hit when you’re in the heat of battle.

Apex Legends Season 9 teaser: Olympus map changes and new Legend

Apex Legends Twitter account teases Olympus map changes and new Legend in a video celebrating 100 million players.

Apex legends season 9 teaser

To celebrate 100 million players on Apex Legends, the developers tweeted out a video showcasing some new content, teasing map changes, and the new Season 9 Legend.

Over on Apex Legends Twitter account, @PlayApex, a video was dropped to celebrate 100 million players on the game.

In the video, streamers and even e-sports commentators for Apex Legends were featured in a collage of videos, celebrating the huge support of the community of the past two years.

The most interesting thing about this video, however, was the teasers that came with it. Popular data miner @Shrugtal was quick to show off the still images of what was teased.

Season 9 Olympus teasers

In the first image, it seems Hammond Labs will be getting a makeover, as the teaser shows off a completely changed location from what is currently in Apex Legends Season 8.

Furthermore, from the fourth image shown by Shrugtal, it seems Olympus will take on a much darker tone than what we are used to, as it looks like it has been set to nighttime.

We then see Mirage Voyage has made its way to Olympus after disappearing from Kings Canyon. The location of where it will be is uncertain and nothing can really be suggested from the small teaser shown in the video.

Legend teaser

Probably the smallest, but the most interesting part about this video is the Legend teaser towards the end. Apex Legends’ new Legend is briefly shown hovering above Mirage but is too far away to make out much detail.

The fact that the Legend is hovering pretty much confirms it will be the Soaring Aviator, Valk, which means Falcon. Valk has been mentioned by data miners in the past and her icon was even shown in the leaked Arena mode teaser not too long ago, which looked like a yellow butterfly.

The fact that Valk’s abilities are associated with hovering and flying pretty much validates that this is Valk, and that she will be coming to Apex Legends in Season 9.

At the end of the video, a date is shown, “4.19.21,” suggesting that this is the date we will see an official reveal trailer for Season 9. Perhaps this means Season 9 will launch May 5th; two days after the end of Season 8.

Apex Legends replaces Second Chance for Armor Regen due to bugs

Apex Legends devs addresses progression bugs for new War Games event, replacing Second Chance for Armor Regen.

Apex Legend’s new mini-event War Games went live yesterday. However, the first mode Second Chance was soon replaced after it introduced a host of bugs.

Upon the release of the Apex Legends War Games event, it seems the first mode wasn’t quite ready for players after it introduced a progression bug.

Players were noticing that kills and assists weren’t adding up after the game was ending, which the developers addressed on Twitter saying, “A bug with the Second Chance takeover in @PlayApex has prevented some stats from updating correctly,” leading them to replace it with Armor Regen.

Armour Regen prize tracker

War Games mode Armor Regen is simple, if you are out of action for a short amount of time, your shield will regenerate – like Wattson but much faster. Players will still have to be careful though, as if your shield fully breaks, it will take much longer to regenerate.

This leads to exciting fights, where characters with mobility like Pathfinder, Octane, and Horizon will excel, allowing them to get in and out of fights and regen their armor.

This update will allow players to make progress on the prize tracker for the Apex Legends event, which was bugged during the Second Chance mode.

The prize tracker features epic Rampart and 30-30 Repeater skins and can be completed by simply playing the game and completing event challenges. You can view the prize tracker underneath the War Games event challenges on the left side of the Apex Legends lobby screen.

Apex developers Respawn Entertainment addressed the situation quickly, adjusting the War Games schedule to replace Second Chance with the Armor Regen takeover. Armor Regen will now take its place in the schedule, lasting until Thursday, April 15th.

The next mode on the schedule is Ultra Zones! For more on Apex Legends event War Games and the upcoming Season 9 content, stay tuned on Charlie Intel.

apex legends season 9 leaks

Dataminers have revealed the latest info on Apex Legends Season 9, including the name, theme, and details on the new Legend that will be arriving.

Apex Legends Season 9 is most likely to begin May 4th, 24 hours after Season 8 finishes. Leaks on Season 9 have been coming thick and fast, as well as the developers sharing hints at the possible updates coming in the new patch notes.

Of course, it is important to keep in mind that this is all subject to change, as developers often have code words for content in the files to throw dataminers off.

Who is the new Apex Legends Season 9 Legend?

Once again, dataminer @Biast12 has revealed the latest leaks on Apex Legends Season 9. The leak includes details on the new Legend, the name for Season 9, and the color theme. However, Biast12’s leaks have been very reliable in the past, and so it is likely these will be accurate, much like the Arena mode.

Firstly, Season 9 is expected to be named “Resurgence” and will take on a purple-colored theme. In Season 8, we saw “Mayhem” and the color was a reddish-orange to represent the fiery chaos of Fuse’s ultimate, The Motherlode.

Season 8 theme

Apex Legends Season 9 will feature purple, perhaps to go along with the new Legend’s aesthetic and abilities. The new Season 9 name, Resurgence, means revival after a period of inactivity. Perhaps this is hinting at the introduction of more Titanfall characters beginning to play bigger roles in the Apex storyline, like Blisk and Ash.

Better still, maybe this is hinting at the supposed new Legend, Valk, and her ability to take to the sky after time spent on the ground.

Biast12 revealed on Twitter that the new Legend arriving in Season 9 will be Valk, a Legend that was leaked a while back and has been talked about continuously in the community. Biast also presented players with the names of her legendary skins, adding credibility to her arrival in Season 9.

Valk is said to have jets that allow her to hover above ground when holding the jump button. As well as this, the new Legend also has an ultimate ability called “Skyward” that acts as a portable redeploy beacon, allowing her and the team to rotate around the map effortlessly.

The Season 9 Legend Valk is known as the Soaring Aviator, hinting at her aerial abilities and also sharing connotations to the theme of Resurgence.
