A mean and accurate Assault Rifle is always a good source of fun in Call of Duty. Sledgehammer Games has given players several incredible guns to choose from, so here are the best loadouts for every Assault Rifle in Vanguard, with every gun ranked too.

It’s another year, which means another Call of Duty game jam-packed full of guns competing with each other to come out on top.

It already has a ton of popular weapons and loadouts, so we have gone through each of Vanguard’s Assult Rifles and decided to rank them from worst to best.

Best Vanguard ARs ranked list

This is our complete list of every Assault Rifle in Call of Duty: Vanguard, taking into account all of their vital statistics, and how they feel to use, and their final forms in terms of attachments too.

Here is every Vanguard Assault Rifle ranked:

  1. Automaton
  2. STG44
  3. Volk
  4. BAR
  5. AS44
  6. ITRA Burst
  7. NZ-41

Best AR loadouts in CoD: Vanguard

For a more detailed look into every Call of Duty: Vanguard Assault Rifle, we’ve gone through each gun and explained the logic behind their positions.

These ARs all have a use and, depending on your preferences, you could find that one works better than another.

7. NZ-41

  • Muzzle: Quicksilver SIlencer
  • Optic: State Reflector
  • Stock: LOR Reinforced
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: 6.5MM Arisaka 45 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Subsonic
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Brace
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

In many Call of Duty games, you’ll get weapons that don’t necessarily perform badly, it’s just that there are few redeeming qualities about them that make them desirable.

The NZ-41 carries that vibe, despite its decent accuracy and firepower, and it’s not helped by some erratic recoil that doesn’t hold up to later weapons on this ranked Assault Rifle list that are simply more preferable.

6. ITRA Burst

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Botti 300MM CXII
  • Optic: MK 3 Sunfilter
  • Stock: Botti DII Grip
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: 8MM Jaeger 32 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Vital
  • Kit: On-Hand

As is usually the case with burst weapons, the ITRA Burst is a very risk and reward weapon with accurate players able to benefit greatly from it. Its main fault sticks out like a sore thumb, and it’s that you’ll only get five bursts to take down an opponent or two.

Thankfully, attachments can improve this drastically, making the ITRA Burst a must-try weapon to see if it’s for you. But for a while, the 4-round burst makes the ITRA Burst a very volatile weapon to use.

5. AS44

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Kovalevskaya 615MM
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Zac 12B Custom
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

It looks like an AK-47, its name isn’t a million away from being “AK-47,” but it just doesn’t quite pack the same punch as one.

It’s a decent Assault Rifle that, as with most weapons, tends to get much better and improves with attachments. But after you’ve fired a few shots you’ll begin to see why it’s just not as heavily favored as other guns. Nevertheless, the AS44 is still worth taking out for a test drive to see what you think.

4. BAR

  • Muzzle: A2 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Chariot 18″ Rapid
  • Optic: Zeiss G16 2.5x
  • Stock: Chariot WR
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: .50 BMG 30 Round Mag
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Hardscope
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

Of all the ARs, the BAR seems to have the most noticeable impact at mid-to-long-range fights, which is supposed to be offset by its 20 round mag. As we know, the BAR can hold 30 rounds quite easily, and this helps to keep the BAR firing its strong rounds for longer.

Don’t expect to win every close-range skirmish though, but have confidence that the BAR can the job done.

3. Volk

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Krausnick 428MM 05V
  • Optic: State Reflector
  • Stock: Reisdorf 22V Adjustable
  • Underbarrel: MK6 Para
  • Magazine: .30 Russian Short 45 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Subsonic
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Defender

The reality is that the Volk is really good, and its undisputed feature is its fire rate. It has the essence of an SMG within it but is still very much a powerful Assault Rifle in Vanguard.

The recoil may deter players, but as usual, if the Volk has the right attachments on it, it immediately becomes a force to be reckoned with.

2. STG44

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: VDD 760MM 05B
  • Optic: Zeiss G16 2.5X
  • Stock: VDD 27 Precision
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: .30 Russian Short 30 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Vital

A common pick amongst AR users in Vanguard, the STG44’s recoil pattern is extremely easy to learn and only gets better once you start slapping some goodies on it.

It can perform in any length of engagement and has enough firepower to not require you to be the world’s leading marksmen to kill with it. It’s unlocked from the get-go and you’ll find a few STG44’s in each match because it’s just that good.

1. Automaton

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Anastasia Sniper
  • Optic: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: ZAC Skeletal
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: 6.5MM Sakura 75 rounds drums
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Leather Grip
  • Proficiency: Frenzy
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

A weapon that most players are not as familiar with is the Automaton, but if they want to ‘git gud’ very quickly, then they should consider swapping to the Automaton.

In its most primitive form, the Automaton only requires a gentle tug of the analog stick or mouse to keep it hammering the bullseye over and over. Its fire rate is phenomenal, and once you slap on the 6.5MM Sakura 75 rounds drums, then you can keep hammering away and unloading on enemies for as long as you please.

There’s always a chance that Sledgehammer Games will alter the stats of these guns as the seasons go on, so it’s worth having one or two guns as a backup in case the meta changes.

Strange Vanguard glitch is teleporting players through walls

CoD: Vanguard players are encountering a new teleportation glitch that is causing them to clip through solid walls.

A bizarre new teleportation glitch is plaguing Call of Duty: Vanguard, causing players to suddenly clip through solid walls.

Vanguard players are no strangers to glitches, as they’ve encountered quite a few since the game launched. These all have different effects on gameplay, such as letting you levitate above the map.

While Sledgehammer Games try to fix these problems, new ones tend to pop up in the game. Now, Vanguard players are reporting a bizarre glitch that is causing them to teleport through solid walls.

Reddit user ‘Wrap-Lazy’ showcased this glitch in a clip posted to the CoD: Vanguard subreddit. The player was on top of the balconies during a match on Dome when they suddenly clipped through the solid surface. to the floor below

This teleportation glitch left many commenters as stunned as the original player, leading some of them to speculate about what caused it.

Some users came stated that this was “lag-related” since the Redditor got a bad packet burst at the same time that they teleported. Connection issues can often cause these kinds of things to occur in the game.

Others were amused by the glitch and began joking about it. “This was actually added for realism. My grandfather was in WWII and he told me he would routinely clip through solid surfaces to confuse the enemy,” wrote one commenter.

“It’s a feature, you just don’t know how to use it properly,” another user jokingly stated. Instantly clipping through the wall can be disorienting for both you and your enemy. If this becomes a widespread issue then the developers will need to fix it.

Vanguard’s Gold Mastery Camo has been “ruined” in Warzone

Warzone players claim Raven Software “ruined” Vanguard weapons’ Gold Mastery Camo by changing the design in a recent update.

Published

on

Warzone players were delighted with Vanguard weapons’ white and gold Mastery Camo design, but the devs changed the design in the mid-Season 1 update and players claim they “ruined” it.

Gold Camo has long been the way for Call of Duty players to prove they’ve mastered a weapon, and Warzone is no different. Players were racing to get as many Vanguard weapons Gold and Diamond as possible ahead of the Warzone integration, and many were delighted with the battle royale’s unique take on the Gold Camo.

Rather than Vanguard’s black and gold design, Warzone featured gold with a swirling white overlay. However, the mid-Season 1 update changed it to Vanguard’s Gold, and players claim it “ruined” the camo.

It’s likely that Vanguard weapons’ white and gold design was an unintended texture bug that was fixed with Warzone’s mid-Season 1 update, yet it has split the community.

Popular Warzone YouTuber JGOD shared a side-by-side view of the new and old camo, saying “they really ruined the way the Vanguard Gold Camo looks in Warzone.”

YouTuber KRNG Hero revealed when the change happened: “they changed it since the mid season update and I’m like, why?”

The post was met with a ton of disappointed replies, with CoD content creator LoochyTV asking: “Why are they even changing this stuff? I just don’t understand why any manpower is being put towards working on THIS instead of the bugs.”

“Why do they change things that don’t need to be touched,” echoed LensEffect. “Like all these problems and they’re worried about the gold camo appearance.”

Not everyone preferred the old design though, with one player saying they prefer the new design because “it looks more like gold in Vanguard.” Another said that “the black and gold looks so much better, that white just looked cheap.”

Raven Software have plenty of major issues listed in their Trello board such as Xbox players being unable to play and the dreaded Buy Station freeze glitch, so it’s unlikely they’ll change the camo back any time soon. But, you can never truly know what Raven have in store.

Vanguard players beg devs to add classic CoD game modes

Vanguard players want to see these fan-favorite game modes from previous CoDs return with the upcoming Season 2 update.

Published

on

As frustration with Vanguard’s current Multiplayer experience continues to grow, players are calling for the inclusion of classic Call of Duty game modes to make a triumphant return.

It seems each new day brings about a new issue that Vanguard players are left to deal with. Overpowered shotguns, broken map rotation, and texture glitches have impacted players’ ability to enjoy the game as intended.

Vanguard players have been patient thus far and the recent community update from the devs stating they are committed to improving performance is a step in the right direction. In addition to performance improvements, Vanguard players are calling for the return of classic CoD game modes.

Vanguard’s core game modes at launch had players feeling shortchanged with several popular game modes omitted. Past titles including Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War had certain game modes that accompanied the core options such as Gun Game, Infected, and Prop Hunt.

Some of these game modes were added to CoD games post-launch which has led to players hoping that the same could be said for Vanguard with Gun Game at the top of the list of highly-requested modes. MetalingusMike’s post on the Vanguard subreddit calls for Gun Game to return with the upcoming Season 2 update.

With the current map rotation issues, it’s no wonder players feel the game is getting stale quickly. Playing the same four to five maps on repeat would turn most players toward feelings of resentment.

Adding new game modes post-launch would be a great way to keep Vanguard feeling fresh and community members seem to agree in the comments of the post “Gun game, infected, prop hunt… even sticks and stones. These modes are the most fun! Funniest, most memorable times.”

Very few details concerning Vanguard Season 2 are currently available but fans will be hoping to see some of these nostalgic game modes return to Call of Duty.
