The AC-42 is a great Assualt Rifle choice in Battlefield 2042. With consistent damage and a solid fire rate for a burst weapon, here’s how you can make the most of the best AC-42 loadout.

Although some Battlefield 2042 players have been upset with the map design, claiming they are too large, a lot of the maps have areas that encourage close-range combat. The best thing to do in these situations is to set yourself up with a solid close-range weapon.

Of course, most players will think of an SMG when it comes to close-range gunplay, but in Battlefield 2042, the AC-42 burst AR is a great choice.

Here’s the best loadout for the AC-42 in Battlefield 2042, including the attachments, gadgets, and Specialist to use.

Best Battlefield 2042 AC-42 loadout attachments

Battlefield 2042 AC-42
  • Optic: UHL-1 SMART 1.5x
  • Barrel: Warhawk Compensator
  • Ammunition: Standard Issue
  • Underbarrel: LS-1 Laser Sight

First off, we’re using the UHL-1 SMART 1.5x optic to provide a cleaner sight to shoot from. As the weapon is mostly going to be used from medium to close range, this 1.5x optic is perfect.

Next up we have the Warhawk Compensator. This barrel attachment is actually the only one in the game that doesn’t have a negative aspect. This attachment will help decrease the AC-42’s vertical recoil, making sure you stay on target.

As for the ammunition, we’ve kept it simple and stuck with the Standard Issue. This is because it has the highest amount of bullets in a magazine. This is essential for the build because you’ll need to have as many bullets as you can in a clip to finish targets off.

Lastly, we’ve gone for the LS-1 Laser Sight. As you’ll be in close-clombat a lot of the time with this loadout, the increase in hip-fire accuracy this attachment adds will help tremendously.

Best Specialist to use with the AC-42 in Battlefield 2042

Webster Mackay using grapple gun in battlefield 2042

There are many Specialists to choose from in Battlefield 2042, but one, in particular, is great for getting up in the enemy’s face and repositioning, which is essential for the AC-42.

We are choosing Webster Mackay. This Specialist doesn’t just have a grappling hook, but also the Nimble passive that allows the player to move more quickly while aiming down sights.

Best Gadget to use with the AC-42 in Battlefield 2042

Ammo Crate in Battlefield 2042

We recommend that players opt for the Ammo Crate gadget for the best AC-42 Battlefield 2042 loadout. As the weapon is essentially a close-ranged burst-rifle, you’ll be spraying bullets and putting enemies down fast.

Sometimes this means you’ll be running out of ammo quickly, and you won’t want to go risk your life looking for a weapon to swap out for. That’s why we feel the Ammo Crate is the best option.

How to unlock the AC-42 in Battlefield 2042

In order to unlock the AC-42, players must reach Level 40 in Battlefield 2042’s multiplayer.

This is a pretty high level to reach in Battlefield 2042, so you’ll have to grind through ranks to unlock it. Furthermore, in order to unlock all the attachments you’ll have to get kills with the weapon, so get grinding!

There you have it, those are the best attachments and Gadgets to use, as well as the Specialist you should play to make the best Battlefield 2042 AC-42 loadout.

Battlefield 2042 players call for Portal XP to be brought back

Battlefield 2042 devs severely limited Portal XP to counter farming modes, but players are desperate to see the change reverted.

DICE almost entirely disabled progression in Battlefield 2042 Portal after it was used to farm XP, but players are calling for it to return after the change turned players away from the mode.

Battlefield 2042 Portal brings content from previous Battlefield games together, where players can create their own unique modes for the community to play. Many regard it as one of 2042’s best modes, but players were quick to use it to farm XP.

DICE were even quicker to limit Portal progression, where you now hardly earn any points when playing in custom matches. However, players are now fed up with not earning any XP and believe it’s hurting the mode’s player count.

Truck driving in Battlefield 2042

When Battlefield 2042 first launched in Early Access, the Portal server browser was full of XP farm modes. These had loads of bots on minimal health, so players could rack up an incredible amount of kills and points.

DICE and Ripple Effect quickly countered the XP farms, drastically limiting the amount of XP you can earn in Portal. However, Battlefield 2042 players are desperate for DICE to re-enable full progression in Portal modes.

Reddit user Chief81 began the call, posting to the Battlefield 2042 subreddit: “Please enable XP back to Portal.”

They explained that they don’t care if some players are using the mode to boost as if someone is max level and has everything unlocked, “it does not hurt every other player.” However, they argue that limiting Portal XP negatively affects everyone.

Many others in the comments agreed, saying that even though Portal is their favorite part of Battlefield 2042, they’ve given up on it. They said that getting low XP and no attachment progress removes all incentives to play.

As for Portal’s XP being re-enabled, a Ripple Effect dev has said that they’re “working on it,” but didn’t provide any timeframe.

Be sure to stay tuned to Charlie INTEL, as we’ll let you know if the developers provide any more updates to Portal’s XP.

Leveling up in Battlefield 2042 can be quite the grind for players. For those who don’t have the time to play hours on end, there are some simple ways to level up fast and effectively.

Battlefield 2042 players haven’t been the most excited about the game’s launch, highlighting many glitches and issues. Having said that, the developers are working on updates, which is exciting for those who are fans of the franchise.

There are many great aspects of the new Battlefield though, especially when it comes to the variety of weapons available.

For those enjoying the game and looking to unlock all the game has to offer, here’s our guide on the level cap and how to level up faster in Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042’s level cap

Battlefield 2042 s level S001

There is currently no battle pass system in Battlefield 2042, with its first season of content set to drop in early 2022. With that being said, there are plenty of levels and content to get through prior to the first season.

The max level in Battlefield 2042 is currently Level 99. However, once you reach this level, there is an option to go even further. After getting through Level 99, you will then progress through S-Levels.

S-Levels start from S001 and end all the way up to S999, which is effectively Level 1098. That means there are around 1098 total Levels in Battlefield 2042 when you include the S-Levels.

While there are more levels past 99, you won’t actually unlock anything new. So, in order to obtain everything the game has to offer, all you need to do is reach Level 99.

This is still a pretty big grind, but luckily there are fast ways for players to reach it. Of course, playing the game as much as possible will help, especially if you play with friends, as this gives you additional XP.

However, making sure you are completing certain actions will add a bonus to the XP you’re getting.

Completing Battlefield 2042 challenges

The most obvious way to gain XP fast is through completing objectives and challenges. Securing flags and completing game mode objectives will give you additional XP, but getting challenges done for Specialists will also help greatly.

Every Specialist in Battlefield 2042 has a variety of challenges to unlock skins. These challenges are great for XP, so make sure you’re focusing on completing them if you want to level up fast.

Battlefield 2042 Ribbons

Players also gain Ribbons from certain actions in-game, which ultimately add additional XP to the amount earned from simply playing a match. The following actions will award players with Ribbons:

  • Killing enemy players
  • Getting assists on squadmates kills
  • Healing fellow players
  • Using EMP’s
  • Destroying enemy vehicles
  • Using the Recon Drone gadget to spot enemies and vehicles
  • Ranger Kills
  • Resupplying your allies with ammo

As well as all this, completing Specialist challenges to gain

Level up fast in the Portal mode

battlefield 2042 portal mode

Previously, there were Portal exploits that allowed players to level up fast. A lot of these have now been patched, but there are still great ways to gain XP in the mode.

Search for XP Farm Servers and participate in killing bots/enemy players to gain XP. This is an easy way to gain XP through getting kills, as there isn’t much of a challenge.

We’re not sure how much longer these XP Farms will exist, as it does seem like the developers are eager to clamp down on them. So, make sure you take advantage while you can!

Hazard Zone

There are other ways for you to level up faster in Battlefield 2042. The game’s Hazard Zone mode is also great, but may not be the most effective due to its slower pace.

You’ll also need to gain a decent amount of kills, as well as extract all your items, which may be more difficult to achieve consistently than a standard Conquest match.

That’s all you need to know about leveling up fast in EA’s Battlefield 2042.

For those looking to unlock higher-tier weapons like the AC-42, which is currently dominating, you’ll definitely want to follow this guide.

Strange Battlefield 2042 bug lets players completely turn off enemy smoke grenades

Battlefield 2042 players have discovered a bug that allows them to completely turn off the effects of smoke grenades.

Smoke grenade in Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 players have across a new bug that lets them completely negate the effects of enemy smoke grenades, making them completely useless in combat.

Battlefield 2042 has been facing quite a few problems since its arrival, from players complaining about the map design to Shroud explaining why weapon bloom is ruining the game.

Now, players have discovered a bug involving smoke grenades and one of the in-game menus, which lets players turn off the effects of that piece of gear, making it completely useless during fights.

Player using riot shield in battlefield 2042 hazard zone

Reddit user Jagsfootball51 highlighted this glitch in the Battlefield 2042 subreddit. “You can completely negate a smoke grenade just by opening the menu and going to [the] Collections [tab],” they stated.

The clip showcased the Redditor looking at some enemies who then threw down a smoke grenade before attempting to revive their teammates. However, the player was able to negate the smoke grenade.

They did this by opening the in-game menu and heading to the Collections tab before returning to the game. The enemy smoke grenades had completely disappeared from their screen after this.

Many of the commenters were surprised by this glitch and expressed their frustration with how this makes grenades completely useless. “This game is so broken,” one user wrote. “This needs an insta-fix.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not the developers are aware of this issue. Hopefully, they’ll investigate the bug and implement a fix because this might be game-breaking.
