Best Cold War EM2 Loadout

Black Ops Cold War debuted the EM2 Assault Rifle in Season 5, and adding these attachments and Perks will help you make the best Cold War EM2 loadout.

The balance of power has shifted slightly in Black Ops Cold War Season 5 as Assault Rifles are coming back into the fray. Aside from the Krig 6, weapons like the LC10, AK-74u, KSP, and PPSH have dominated in previous seasons.

But Assault Rifles have been given various buffs across the board, and now the accurate EM2 has been added to the mix. Follow our guide below to make the best Cold War EM2 loadout and dominate your enemies in Season 5.

Best Cold War EM2 loadout attachments

  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Muzzle: SOCOM Eliminator
  • Barrel: 26.3″ Takedown
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Magazine: 30 Rnd

The EM2 can manage with five attachments in Black Ops Cold War, so we’re going for the Perk Greed Wildcard.

The Axial Arms 3x gives us our usual range and zoom to benefit from when using the best Cold War EM2 loadout, and the 30 Rnd mag is a must, with the EM2 only having a small magazine.

The 26.3″ Takedown is a perfect addition to keep that firepower consistent over longer distances, with many big maps in the game. It’s all well and good having incredible range, but the Field Agent Grip will also give you tremendous accuracy as it eliminates a lot of that vertical and horizontal recoil.

Finally, to finish off the best Cold War EM2 loadout, the SOCOM Eliminator also gives us another vertical recoil reduction to make it a laser-firing monster.

Best perks to run with the EM2 Cold War class

Best Cold War EM2 loadout
  • Perk 1: Tactical Mask & Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Assassin & Gearhead
  • Perk 3: Ghost & Ninja

Flak Jacket is almost an essential Perk in Black Ops Cold War as every game will feature a litany of killstreak-ending explosives. This will avoid that. The big benefit of Tactical Mask is that you will simply shrug off any Gas Mines or disorientation from thrown equipment.

Assassin usually points out better players that accumulate more kills and streaks, so it’s good for hunting them down and earning extra points in the process. Whereas Gearhead lets you use more equipment for extra kills.

Ghost is a common Perk that almost all players will use because of its ability to hide you from Spy Planes and to finish. We recommend Ninja as it quietens your sprinting massively.

Most recent EM2 buffs and nerfs

There is no doubt that the EM2 has been one of the most powerful weapons in Black Ops Cold War since it was added to the game at the beginning of Season 5.

This dominance led to players asking Treyarch to nerf the Assault Rifle, which the development studio pushed live in the September 2 update. You can find the latest nerf to the EM2 below:

  • EM2 Assault Rifle
    • 25.8″ Task Force Barrel
      • Now reduces Fire Rate by 7%.
