Tundra on display in Black Ops Cold War

One of Black Ops Cold War’s most fearsome Sniper Rifles is the LW3 Tundra that can obliterate lobbies in single shots. Here are the attachments and perks you need to use to make the best Tundra Cold War loadout for Season 5.

There’s less emphasis on Sniping in the most recent Call of Duty than in recent years, but it still has plenty of capable killers. It doesn’t matter what new theme the latest CoD is incorporating. Sometimes people want to know what bolt-action Snipers they’ll be using.

The LW3 Tundra has proven to be exceedingly popular in CoD: Warzone Season 5, and it’s now once again in lots of Cold War player’s headlights.

The right loadout helps the LW3 punch harder than the Pelington 703, and it can rack up big scorestreaks, so here is how to make the best Cold War Tundra loadout class.

Best Cold War LW3 Tundra loadout

Best Cold War LW3 Tundra loadout attachments

We recommend that you equip the Gunfighter Wildcard as we ideally want as many gun-boosting attachments on the LW3 as possible.

Here are the best attachments for the LW3 Tundra in Treyarch’s Cold War:

  • Optic: AN/PVS-4 Thermal
  • Muzzle: Stabilizer .308
  • Barrel: 28.2″ Tiger Team
  • Body: Mounted Flashlight
  • Underbarrel: Bipod
  • Magazine: 7 RND
  • Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Pad

Our first attachment will be the AN/PVS-4 Thermal Optic, as the scope can handle any of the maps that Cold War has to offer. With slight visibility issues in Cold War, thermal makes identifying targets a whole lot easier.

Next, we have the Stabilizer .308, and it’s a simple choice here as it reduces weapon sway at no extra cost. A big attachment here is the 28.2″ Tiger Team Barrel, as this one will cost you starting ammo. However, it gives you a big boost to damage, fire rate, and bullet velocity. We feel the massive benefits, allowing you to one-shot more easily, easily outweigh the negatives.

We chose the Mounted Flashlight for the body as we feel that the Thermal Scope is already helping us at greater distances, so some close-range assistance is useful. The Bipod offers 50% Horizontal AND Vertical recoil reduction that cannot be scoffed at.

The 7 RND Magazine adjusts for the ammo we sacrificed by having the Tiger Team Barrel and giving you extra leeway if you miss your shots and forget to reload.

The Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle gives us the most improved ADS time, which is necessary with a big bulky Sniper Rifle like this. Finally, the Raider Pad Stock offers a huge increase to Sprint to Fire time and Aim Walking Movement speed – reduced hip fire accuracy shouldn’t be a factor given that we’re not looking to do that.

Best perks for LW3 Tundra class

  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Assassin
  • Perk 3: Gung-Ho

Flak Jacket is almost a universal requirement given how many explosives are flying around in a game of Call of Duty, especially as people try and sniff out your position. Providing you’re on a nice sniping scorestreak, Assassin will give your points tally a nice boost.

Gung-Ho is your “break in case of emergency” option as you will inevitably become involved in close-quarters combat and will need a trust SMG to switch too quickly.

Best field upgrade to use for LW3 Tundra

To complete your loadout, you’ll need to make sure you have a Trophy System equipped because even though you may have Flak Jacket enabled, a Trophy System can destroy incoming projectiles and net you extra points in the process.

How to unlock the LW3 Tundra

Interested individuals will be able to build this powerful setup once they have unlocked this sniper rifle.

Players will unlock the LW3 Tundra when they reach level 25 in Black Ops Cold War, so a few hours of playing should have you to this level without any trouble.

Best Alternatives

If you are not feeling the best Cold War Tundra loadout, the ZRG 20mm and Pelington 703 are excellent alternatives to this sniper and should serve you well when it comes to taking down enemies from afar with deadly precision and power.

You can also check out our weapon tier list for Season 5 and see if any of the weapons currently dominating might suit you better.

That completes your new LW3 Tundra loadout for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It should make your Tundra an unstoppable laser-accurate one-shot machine.
