The CR-56 AMAX remains at the top of the pack in Warzone Season 3, so here are the best attachments and perks to give you the best loadout class for this assault rifle in Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island.

Ever since it was first added to the Call of Duty battle royale, the CR-56 AMAX has been one of the most popular and powerful weapons in Warzone. The AMAX is favored in Season 3 due to its high damage potential, which allows it to down fully armored players in only a few shots.

It’s a little harder to control than other assault rifles, but the recoil pattern is quite easy to learn. If you can manage to mount this weapon on a surface, you’ll almost be unstoppable and will be able to mow down teams of enemies without too much trouble.

Here’s the best loadout class to maximize the potential of the CR-56 AMAX across all Warzone game modes in Season 3.

Best Warzone CR-56 AMAX attachments

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Round Mags

There’s a reason why so many streamers and content creators use this CR-56 AMAX build. It’s maxed out for range and recoil control, being especially dominant at medium range. Much of Verdansk ’84 is open ground, making a medium-long range build necessary for survival.

The Monolithic Suppressor and the longest barrel, the XRK Zodiac S440, are necessary editions for the AMAX. These attachments often come hand in hand, maximizing any Assault Rifle’s effective range. Put a Commando Foregrip on this barrel, and you’ll find controlling the vertical recoil much more manageable.

While optional, the VLK 3.0x Optic makes this weapon even stronger. This unobtrusive optic allows you to have a clear view of enemies and where your shots are going, allowing further recoil control. The 45 Round Mag increases your ADS time but reduces the need to reload mid firefight. With the prevalence of self-revive, not letting that player crawl away could be the difference between a win and a loss.

The only downside to these attachments is a reduction in ADS time, making close-range engagements more difficult. If you stick to the outdoors with this weapon build and use it at its most effective range, you’ll find yourself being one of the most dominant players on the map.

Best perks for Warzone CR-56 AMAX class

To round off this CR-56 AMAX loadout class, you want to have the best perks equipped. Perks make or break a loadout, so you want to get those that will take you all the way to the endgame.

best perks warzone cr-56 amax class

Perk 1 – E.O.D

E.O.D is a vital perk in Warzone, especially in squad matches. This reduces explosive damage received, meaning you can tank an onslaught of explosives and stay in the fight. Keep throwing on armor plates, and you’ll be invulnerable.

Perk 2 – Overkill then Ghost

Because the AMAX is best suited for medium-long distance combat, you’ll want something great up close as a secondary. The MAC-10 is an excellent choice, so use Overkill to get two weapons from your first loadout.

Then, when you get another, you should take the Ghost perk. This will keep you hidden from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors, which is extremely important for winning Warzone.

Perk 3 – Amped

While having two weapons, there’s nothing worse than running out of ammo and defencelessly dying while you swap weapons. Amped almost eliminates weapon swap time so that you can stay in the fight uninterrupted and not die because you were caught switching weapons.

How to Unlock CR-56 AMAX in Warzone

The CR-56 AMAX has one of the more unique unlock challenges that players will have to complete to add this weapon to their inventories. Interested individuals will have to acquire 3 gunbutt kills with an assault rifle in 10 different matches.

There is no doubt that this unlock challenge is much easier to do in the multiplayer game modes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare than Warzone, but it is possible to do in the battle royale if you so choose.

JGOD explains stealth buff to Cold War optics in Warzone Season 3

Warzone stats master JGOD has given players a look at a Cold War stealth buff for optics that will no doubt help when it comes to making loadout choices.

JGOD Warzone Cold War Optics Stealth Buff

Warzone stats wizard JGOD has given a community a look at a recent stealth buff for the Black Ops Cold War optics that look to have provided a noticeable reduction in recoil that players will no doubt want to take advantage of when playing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War brought a plethora of content into Warzone when integrated into the Call of Duty battle royale. A large portion of this content was the various optics that players could use on their Black Ops Cold War weapons.

JGOD, who is known as the top content creator in the community when it comes to testing various things in Warzone, recently explained how a stealth buff had been applied to a couple of the optics available for players to use on their Cold War weapons in Warzone that will provide players who use them with a strong reduction in recoil.

The first test that JGOD explains in his video shows how the Axial 3x scope now provides a 20% reduction in vertical recoil compared to the iron sights for the Krig 6 firing when standing, which is the current meta Assault Rifle most players are using in Season 3.

Warzone Cold War Stealth Buff Optics

Now, the SUSAT Multizoom Cold War optic recently emerged as the go-to weapon sight for many players. Still, JGOD explains that the Axial 3x actually provides a larger statistical reduction in recoil.

However, the nature of the Axial 3x zooming in more than the SUSAT Multizoom and having greater idle sway provides more of a visual increase in recoil, leading to more of a placebo effect regarding the SUSAT Multizoom having less recoil.

When it comes to mounting, JGOD explains that the overall reduction in recoil that having your weapon mounted in Warzone results in there not being as much as a noticeable difference in recoil reduction for the Axial 3x and SUSAT Multizoom when compared to firing a weapon with these sights when you are standing.

Moving on to the Stoner 63 LMG, JGOD shows how the same test resulted in the Axial giving the Stoner 63 a 10% reduction in vertical recoil and similarly less recoil reduction for the SUSAT Multizoom.

Warzone Cold War Stealth Buff Optics

When it came to having the Stoner 63 mounted, JGOD found that the Axial 3x still provided a Cold War stealth buff of around a 10% reduction in recoil.

In contrast, the SUSAT Multizoom did not provide any recoil reduction for the Stoner when mounted.

Thanks to the work of JGOD, Warzone players now know that the Cold War stealth buff for the Axial 3x and SUSAT Multizoom make these two optics the best choices for players currently in Season 3.

Warzone devs confirm fix for frustrating lighting issues

Warzone Season 3 players have been reporting lighting issues following Verdansk ’84’s arrival, and the devs have promised a fix.

Raven Software address Glare issues in Warzone Season 3

Warzone’s Season 3 update gave Verdansk an 80s-themed makeover, but this created some frustrating new lighting issues, which caught the attention of Raven Software, who’ve promised a fix.

With Warzone Season 3 well underway, players have the opportunity to explore the various new map changes in Verdansk ’84. Part of the new aesthetic is a vastly different color pallet, but this has caused some issues.

The new lighting systems don’t work well with the color pallet, and many players have reported a frustrating glare that’s been causing headaches. Now, the devs have assured fans that they’re working on it.

The new Warzone lighting system has been causing headaches

Activision sent out an accessibility survey in which they asked players about their biggest complaints about the game. Various players pointed out that the new lighting and color pallet was causing problems for them.

The glare is most notable when heading outside from an indoor location. Many players have reported having headaches as they adjusted to the change, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the developers.

“We’ve been monitoring this closely,” Raven Software confirmed. They’re aware of the problem, and have reassured fans that they “plan on addressing it in an upcoming update.”

The developers didn’t provide us with any specifics about how exactly they would change up the Warzone lighting. Still, we can expect them to tweak it so that players don’t develop headaches after short periods of time, which is certainly something no developer wants happening to players who are spending their time playing the games they are working on.

Aside from this, the survey also covered an improved in-game text chat and better audio options for Warzone in Season 3. There has also been some weapon nerfs in the latest update.

Raven Software and Activision have many more additions planned for Season 3 of the Call of Duty battle royale game, including the addition of 80s action hero Rambo and the new CARV.2 Tactical Rifle in the new Verdansk.

How to unlock the CARV.2 in Warzone & Cold War Season 3

The CARV.2, or G11, will arrive in Warzone and Cold War Season 3 soon, so here’s how you’ll be able to get your hands on it.

CARV 2 in Warzone

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone’s new Tactical Rifle, the CARV.2, commonly referred to as the G11, will be arriving soon. Here’s how you can unlock it once it arrives, and some ways you can get your hands on it early.

As with all new seasons of Call of Duty, there are new weapons to unlock and level up. Cold War and Warzone Seasons 2 and 3 have been particularly generous, offering players six new weapons in both seasons.

For Season 3, we’ve already received the Swiss K31, PPSH, and Ballistic Knife, but there are three new weapons on the way. Most exciting is a redesign of the original Black Ops’ burst-fire G11, now called the CARV.2.

Here’s how you’ll be able to unlock the G11 in Warzone and Cold War, as well as some ways to play with it early.

How to unlock the CARV.2 in Warzone and Cold War

CARV2 black ops cold war

Activision have revealed that the CARV.2 Tactical Rifle will release in Warzone and Cold War Season 3 on Thursday, May 6.

Season 2’s weapons, such as the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle and the R1 Shadowhunter had challenges to unlock it. Devs have confirmed that this burst-fire weapon will also unlock through an in-game challenge, with the challenge asking players to rapidly kill 2 or more players in 10 different completed matches using Tactical Rifles.

Along with the challenge, a Blueprint for the CARV.2 will also release in the store. Devs confirmed that it’s coming in the Plastik Porotype Bundle, with the Blueprint called Konsole, which will also release on May 6.

The CARV.2 has been described as a weapon that stands out in the Tactical Rifle class for its “high bullet velocity output, offering powerful damage, solid recoil control, and a large ammo pool from the start.”

With this weapon, it’s possible Warzone will have another burst-fire meta on its hands.

How to use the CARV.2 early in Warzone and Cold War

Players have reported that you can get your hands on the CARV.2 early by playing Cold War Zombies and Warzone Orientation.

Through the Trials missions in Zombies and Outbreak, you’ll receive certain rewards. Players have shown footage of them receiving the CARV.2 through the Trials, but it’s possible this has been patched by Treyarch since.

In Warzone, players have reported that you can try out the CARV.2 in the Warzone Orientation mode. You’ll only receive the base version, but it will give you a taste of how the weapon feels.

Here’s how to try out the CARV.2 in Warzone:

  1. Launch Warzone
  2. Select ‘Private Match & Practice’
  3. Queue into ‘Warzone Orientation’
  4. After you spawn in, drop your 1911
  5. You’ll have either the CARV.2 or the FARA 83 equipped
  6. If you get the FARA, back out and try again until you receive the CARV.2

It appears it’s much more likely to receive the FARA 83 in Orientation, but it’s worth trying a few times to see if you can get a shot of the G11 but again, it’s possible this has been silently patched.

While you wait for the G11 to release in Cold War, it’s worth checking out our guides on how to unlock Season 3’s new Swiss K31 and PPSH-41.
