S-Tier
ACR 6.8 – Best gun in XDefiant
The ACR 6.8 is the best weapon in XDefiant. This powerful Assault Rifle has great recoil control and damage range.
With our best loadout for the ACR 6.8 that compiles all the optimal attachments for the gun, the ACR’s mobility and accuracy allow you to destroy opponents in multiplayer matches from all ranges.
MP7 – Best SMG in XDefiant
The MP7 claims the best SMG spot in the game, with a blistering fire rate, impressive damage, and mobility. This SMG is excellent for players who like to rush around the map and finesse enemies. It’s a go-to pick on smaller maps.
Check out our best MP7 loadout if you’re looking to take advantage of the SMG.
AK-47
The classic AK-47 is a hard-hitting Assault Rifle that can do some serious work, with best-in-class firepower. Its overall stats make it a reliable gun in the game. Its unlock challenge is easy, making it accessible to most players.
If you love the classic AR but are unsure about which attachments to use, here’s our best loadout for the AK-47 in XDefiant.
LVOA-C
Season 1’s brand-new Assault Rifle is the LVOA-C, and it comes in strong for its debut. Boasting a high fire rate and great damage, this versatile rifle can be built for both long and close range depending on the map or your playstyle.
This makes it a top choice, as you have many options. We recommend using our best loadout for the LVOA-C, which takes advantage of its medium-ranged capabilities.
A-Tier
MDR
The MDR has claimed a spot at the top of the A Tier. This Assault Rifle has outstanding damage and range, making it a great choice for bigger maps. It’s also reminiscent of CoD‘s FAMAS, so if you’re a fan of that weapon, this one’s for you.
Here’s the best MDR loadout in XDefiant for those who are looking to utilize this powerful AR.
Vector .45 ACP
The Vector .45 ACP is a great close-range option in XDefiant, with a crazy fire rate and decent damage. However, the weapon fails to perform outside of its close-range sweet spot, holding it back from taking the best SMG spot in the game.
Those looking to pick up this SMG will want all the best attachments, so here’s our optimal loadout for the Vector.
L115 – Best Sniper in XDefiant
The new L115 Sniper Rifle is the perfect middle ground between the other two options in the category, offering consistent one-shots from range, while also having enough speed for players who like to move around and quickscope.
Using our best loadout for the L115, you can get the best of both worlds, hence its position in the tier list.
P90
While it seems to have many drawbacks, the P90 is reminiscent of its Call of Duty alternative. This SMG has the largest default magazine size, meaning you can add an attachment elsewhere. Also, it allows you to be aggressive and snappy given its great mobility and damage.
Here’s our best build for the P90 in XDefiant if you’d like to give it a spin.
M16A4
The M16A4 is XDefiant’s powerful burst Assault Rifle, offering a ton of damage and range at the expense of fire rate and mobility. This weapon can do serious damage as long as you hit the target with all the bullets in a burst, allowing you to get a one-burst kill to the head.
M4A1
Despite always being near the top of the best weapon rankings in most shooters, the M4A1 was surpassed in XDefiant by other picks. However, this well-rounded Assault Rifle can get the job done, boasting competitive damage and range.
Check out the best M4A1 loadout if you’re looking to run this classic AR in XDefiant.
MP5A2
The MP5A2 is a decent pick if you’re looking for a weapon with great mobility, damage, and fire rate. This SMG is incredibly easy to use and feels familiar, which proves worthwhile when joining a new game like XDefiant.
However, its counterparts boast better close-range stats, including damage, fire rate, and mobility, dragging this classic SMG down the list.
M44
Those looking for a mobility-based Sniper should pick up the M44, as what it lacks in firepower when compared to the TAC-50 it more than makes up for it with great mobility. The M44 is a quickscoper’s dream, with reliable damage so long as you hit the upper chest and head.
Check out our best M44 loadout if you’re into quickscoping.
RPK-74 – Best LMG in XDefiant
The best LMG in XDefiant is the RPK-74, which is essentially a heavier version of the AK-47. This weapon hits hard, and despite being an LMG, the RPK-74 has surprisingly great mobility and fast reload times.
Its recoil can be pretty rough though, so you may want to try our best loadout for the RPK-74 to control it.
TAC-50
For those who love sniping, the TAC-50 is a dream to use. This Sniper is easy to use, and although it isn’t the best for qucikscoping, its consistent damage make it a one-shot machine.
Here’s the best loadout for the TAC-50 in XDefiant if you want the satisfaction of taking enemies out in one-shot.
B-Tier
M60
Another LMG, the M60 also hits hard but it lacks in mobility which is a major downside in a fast-paced shooter like XDefiant. That said, it can absolutely delete enemies and is perfect for long lines of sight on certain maps, especially thanks to its huge 100-round magazine.
You’ll need to play a bit more patience though, so if that’s your game, here’s the best M60 loadout in XDefiant.
M249
Yet another heavy LMG, the M249 is more versatile than the M60 and RPK-74, as it has better mobility and accuracy than both, making it a great choice for those who’d like to run something in between an LMG and an Assault Rifle.
SVD – Best Marksman Rifle in XDefiant
The SVD is our first Marksman Rifle on the list, and players should look at it like a lightweight Sniper. Despite being more mobile and having a higher rate of fire, it’s not as powerful as a Sniper, so it can leave you slightly frustrated with hitmarkers.
AA-12 – Best Shotgun in XDefiant
When it comes to Shotguns, the AA-12 is the best choice thanks to its full-auto capability. It excels when up close and personal with enemies, but the slow reload and lack of range is a major letdown.
If you’re interested in using the best Shotgun in XDefiant, here’s our recommended AA-12 loadout.
C-Tier
MK 20 SSR
The MK 20 SSR is the last of the Marksman Rifles, and it lands in the C-Tier due to its difficulty in being effective against Assault Rifles and Snipers. It’s in between these categories but doesn’t feel as if it can outplay either in their respective ranges.
93R – Best Secondary in XDefiant
The 93R is without a doubt the best Secondary gun in the game, as despite having the weakest damage per shot, its three-round bursts more than make up for the lack of firepower. This is the perfect weapon for finishing enemies off from close range when your primary runs out of ammo in the clip.
Double Barrel
Unfortunately, the Double Barrel is a frustrating weapon to use due to its inherent nature of only having two bullets. This leads to constant reloads, which can often leave you in a pickle. That said, it does pack a punch nd can wipe enemies away in close-quarters combat, but it’ll take some mastering.
Sawed-Off
If you’re looking for a close-range secondary that can drop enemies in extremely fast fashion, the Sawed-Off Shotgun is your pick.
That said, its lack of range really does let it down, as you need to be extremely close to get that consistent one-shot. You can extend its range using our best build for the weapon.
M9
The M9 is the first Secondary pistol you’ll have unlocked in XDefiant, and so it’s pretty lackluster. It has great mobility though, in fact, it has the highest mobility stat out of all the secondaries in XDefiant, so swapping to this weapon to get out of spawn can speed things up considerably.
M870
The final Shotgun on the list is the M870. This weapon is the archetype Shotgun, it’s great for close-quarters, but lacks in range and can be a hit marker machine. That said, as long as you play to its strengths, it can do the job.
D-Tier
686 Magnum
First up in the final D-Tier is the 686 Magnum. This weapon sure does a lot of damage, but its fire rate is extremely slow, so you’re relying on accuracy with this one, which makes it unreliable unless you’re John Wick.
M1911
Another Secondary, the M1911 sits underneath the M9 due to its worse mobility stat, making it a bit of a pointless pick unless you have a ridiculous trigger finger.
D50
Finally, the D50 is our pick for the worst gun in XDefiant, as it does less damage than the Magnum and doesn’t have much better stats overall. Its fire rate is decent, but again, it requires accuracy, and in a game where players can move around fast, it’s not the strongest pick.
All in all, those were the best guns to use in XDefiant to dominate the game. Don’t forget to check your console and PC settings, as optimizing your controller and audio can significantly enhance your gameplay, helping you to level up quickly and complete challenges more efficiently.
