Modern Warfare’s Kar98k has long been the meta option in Warzone, but Vanguard’s Kar98k is nothing to be sniffed at. We’re breaking down the best Vanguard Kar98k loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 2, including the meta attachments and Perks.
Warzone’s meta has changed significantly since Vanguard integrated in December 2021, but Sniper Rifles have remained an extremely powerful choice in both Caldera and Rebirth Island Reinforced.
Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Sniper Rifles offer high mobility, so they’re great choices across both of Warzone’s maps. The Kar98k has long been a fan favorite, so here’s the best Vanguard Kar98k loadout you can use in Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded.
- Best Vanguard Kar98k Warzone loadout attachments
- Best Perks and Equipment to use with the Kar98k

Best Vanguard Kar98k Warzone loadout attachments
- Muzzle: SD Silencer
- Barrel: VDD 660mm 05HE
- Optic: —
- Stock: Krausnick Padded
- Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
- Magazine: 8mm Klauser 5 Round Fast Mags
- Ammunition: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Perk: Fleet
- Perk 2: Fully Loaded
We’re kicking off this Vanguard Kar98k loadout with the SD Silencer and the VDD 660mm 05HE Barrel. Combined, these attachments vastly increase the Kar’s bullet velocity, range, and flinch resistance, while also keeping your shots off the mini map. Then, the Krausnick Padded Stock will keep the gun under control and further help with flinch resistance.
These do slow the Kar98k down, so we’ve equipped the SMLE Pistol Grip and Fabric Grip to increase its ADS speed and lower its sprint-to-fire time. You’ll also want to reload the Kar as fast as possible, so the 8mm Klauser 5 Round Fast Mags with Lengthened Ammo are the perfect choice.
We’re keeping the default Optic on the Kar, and rounding it off with the Fleet Perk so you can rapidly switch between weapons, and Fully Loaded so you have full ammo as soon as you pick it up.
Best Perks and Equipment to use with the Kar98k
- Perk 1: E.O.D.
- Perk 2: Overkill
- Perk 3: Amped
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Stun Grenade
First, we recommend using E.O.D. with Vanguard’s Kar98k in Warzone as it will protect you from any explosives coming your way. Next, we recommend Overkill so you can pair the Vanguard Kar98k with something for close to medium range, and we recommend the Cooper Carbine.
Overkill gives you the option for a more close-ranged gun, and we recommend the Cooper Carbine, as it’s a solid close to medium range option in Warzone Pacific.
For the final Perk, we chose Amped. This Perk allows you to switch weapons faster, which is great for any sniper loadout as it means you will be able to pull your secondary weapon out quickly so that you aren’t out-gunned from close range.
Finally, for Equipment, Semtex is great for finishing off weak enemies or forcing them out of cover and the Stun will buy you more time when you’re in a tight spot.
How to unlock Vanguard Kar98k in Warzone Pacific
In order to unlock Vanguard’s Kar98k in Warzone, players must reach Level 43 in either Vanguard or Warzone.
This will unlock the weapon for use in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific and if you’re looking to reach this level fast, check out our piece on how to level up quickly.
Best alternatives to the Kar98k in Warzone Pacific
If you’re looking for an alternative to Vanguard’s Kar98k in Warzone, Modern Warfare’s Kar98k and the Swiss K31 are two of the best Sniper Rifles in the game. The 3 Line Rifle has also been called ‘hitscan’ because of its incredibly high bullet velocity.

Warzone 2 reportedly set to introduce bag system & new armor vest mechanic
Renowned leaker Tom Henderson claims that Warzone 2 could introduce a bag system for looting as well as a new armor vest mechanic.
Industry insider Tom Henderson claims that Warzone 2 could introduce players to a bag system for looting purposes much like Escape from Tarkov. The same report also suggests that the sequel will come with a new way to store armor.
On May 20, Tom Henderson published a Warzone 2 report which revealed various details that could be coming to the battle royale. While players are already excited by leaks of classic MW2 maps being involved in Warzone 2, they also got word of the potential inclusion of Pro Perks.
Henderson’s report highlighted several exciting new features that are rumored to make their way to Warzone 2. Among these new features is a bag system for looting as well as armor vests that are similar to what players had in Black Ops 4’s Blackout.
Warzone 2 rumored armor vests explained
It seems the devs have decided to combine the current armor system in Warzone with the previous armor system in Blackout. In Blackout, players were tasked with searching for one of three levels of body armor that would increase their overall health.
According to Henderson, “players will need to find a tiered armor vest in order to equip armor plates,” in Warzone 2. If leaks are true, players can expect both armor plates and a version of body armor, aka armor vests, in Warzone 2.
The report claims that there will be three tiers of armor vests, and each tier will hold one more armor plate than the previous tier. Furthermore, “your armor vest does not break, but your armor plates do.” These claims suggest that plating in Warzone 2 will abide by a similar structure to the familiar Warzone system.
Bag system reportedly coming to Warzone 2
Another interesting aspect of the report was the suggestion that Warzone 2 could adopt a bag system, with similar functionality to that of Escape from Tarkov’s. Henderson stresses that the bag system is in early development and far from finished as a new feature.
Once again, it seems there will be different bag tiers, with the higher tiers carrying more loot. Rumors suggest that bags could carry killstreaks, ammo, and weapons, making them a vital aspect of surviving until the endgame.
Here’s a rough example from Henderson’s report detailing how the bag system could work:
“Example of how the Bag System works (not accurate numbers).
- Ammo – Takes up 1 Slot
- Killstreaks – Takes up 4 Slots (2 by 2)
- Assault Rifle – Takes up 6 Slots (2 by 3)
- Sniper Rifle – Takes up 8 Slots (2 by 4)
- Tier 1 Bag – 10 Slots (2 by 5)
- Tier 2 Bag – 15 Slots (3 by 5)
- Tier 3 Bag – 20 Slots (4 by 5)”
Based on the size of the bag, players will have to strategically decide which items to carry. In addition, those familiar with Tarkov will know that you can flip items to allow for maximum storage space within the bag. Henderson claims that “at this moment in time, you cannot “flip” weapons to add to your bag as they can only be placed horizontally.”
With several of these features drawing from Blackout, it’s no surprise that Henderson suggested Warzone 2’s map is more like Blackout than Verdansk or Caldera.

Warzone 2 leak reveals major Pro Perk return details
A classic CoD feature looks set to return in Warzone 2 as leaks suggest Pro Perks will make their way to the sequel.
A new leak has backed up claims that Pro Perks from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 will return in Warzone 2, explaining how they’ll work in the highly-anticipated sequel to Call of Duty’s battle royale title.
Warzone 2 rumors and leaks are beginning to pick up steam as multiple reports have surfaced during the week of May 16 that share possible details about the sequel. It seems the battle royale will be drawing heavily from past CoD titles, as classic Modern Warfare 2 maps are supposedly making their way to Warzone 2.
It turns out those maps might not be the only inclusion from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, with a new leak suggesting Pro Perks could be a brand-new feature in Warzone 2.
Renowned Call of Duty leaker and industry insider Tom Henderson’s report released on May 20 revealed various Warzone 2 details. The report shed light on a new interrogation feature as well as a possible bag system for looting.
For those interested in new features, Henderson also stated that “Pro Perks were on pre-determined classes during the recent Warzone 2 playtests.” It seems a recent Warzone 2 playtest revealed the appearance of Pro Perks in the battle royale.
In Modern Warfare 2, Pro Perks acted as boosted versions of standard Perks. These superior versions essentially add another trait to the standard version of the Perk. For example, the Commando Perk increased melee distance, while the Commando Pro Perk increased melee distance and made players immune to fall damage.
Before you get ahead of yourself and dream of the perfect loadout with Pro Perks equipped, Henderson stated that “it’s not entirely clear whether or not Pro Perks will be able to be used on your Loadout as you might need to loot and use them in order to get an extra edge.”
Henderson goes on to explain that one way of obtaining Pro Perks will be to loot Strongholds. Finding Pro Perks in-game as an extra advantage could add a new layer of strategy to Warzone 2 gameplay.
We’ll keep you posted once we know more about how Pro Perks will be integrated into the game.

Warzone 2 reportedly brings interrogation system similar to Rainbow Six Siege
Industry insider Tom Henderson claims that Warzone 2 will allow players to interrogate downed enemies similar to Rainbow Six Siege.
Industry insider Tom Henderson has dropped even more Warzone 2 leaks, claiming that players will be able to interrogate downed opponents similar to Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite.
The only official information we have surrounding Warzone 2 is that it’s in development alongside Modern Warfare 2 and will be “disruptive” and a “massive evolution of Battle Royale.” However, insider Tom Henderson and YouTuber NerosCinema have dropped a ton of leaks.
Henderson claims to have revealed all of the Warzone 2 map’s POIs, including the classic Modern Warfare 2 maps they’ll be built around, and also expanded on Nero’s claims that there will be Strongholds, Pro Perks, and a new inventory management system.
In his May 20 eXputer report, Henderson claimed that Warzone 2 could feature an interrogation system similar to the one found in Rainbow Six Siege.
Both Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite have featured an interrogation system where you can force a downed opponent to reveal their teammates’ locations. While reportedly still “in its early stages,” Tom Henderson claims that a similar interrogation system will be present in Warzone 2.
In his latest Warzone 2 report, Henderson described how “approaching downed enemies will show the ‘Interrogate’ prompt, of which your player carries out an execution-style animation to kill the player.” After the player is dead, their squad’s location will be revealed on the mini map.
The interrogation is apparently very similar to the current revive animation where you inject the player with a Stim — “or maybe it’s a truth serum.” This process will take around six seconds to complete, so it sounds like a high-risk maneuver.
Henderson said it was suggested to him by several people that it’s “more of an ‘add-on’ to the execution animations,” but he can’t guarantee whether or not it will make it into the full game.
Of course, it’s worth taking all of this information with a grain of salt. Assuming the leaks are true in the first place, internal plans change, and this could all be out of date by Warzone 2’s launch.
