Bizzarre Apex Legends Winter Express glitch is trapping players in boxes

The Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 event has a new bug that’s causing players to become stuck within the Winter Express LTM.

The Holo-Day Bash 2020 event has seen a few glitches since it went live. Now a new one has been reported that traps players in boxes when entering the Winter Express LTM, and causes them to quit the game. Here’s what we know about the bug.

With the holiday season just around the corner, Respawn have brought back the The Holo-Day Bash event to get players into the festive spirit. The highlight of the event is the Winter Express LTM which pits three teams against each other on the World’s Edge as they try to take control of the train. This mode is fun but it has some problems.

Players have reported glitches and bugs while playing on the train. A new one traps players within boxes with no way to get out. There have been increasing reports of this bug across the Apex community.

Reddit user ‘u/Solalgaleo’ posted a clip of the bug in the Apex Legends subreddit. It shows the player getting trapped inside one of the boxes and trying desperately to get out. Firing the weapon, deploying a D.O.C. drone, and putting down holo-sprays didn’t help them escape.

You can see this all take place in the clip below:

The player can fire their weapon but can’t deal damage to other players or get out of the box. Being trapped also protected them from enemy fire so they became invincible. This means that there was no hope of escape via elimination.

Another reddit user named ‘u/SirKona’ posted a similar clip. They got trapped in one of the train’s boxes, and then tried various different actions to escape but to no avail.

As you can see in the clip, they tried firing their Volt SMG before trying to leave the box. It seems that players can keep performing their usual actions while they’re trapped but it will have no effect on their situation.

We don’t know the exact cause of the bug at the moment, but the player reported this happening after they ran and jumped up onto the box as the train was going down a slope. Eventually they got bored of being invincible so they left the game.

So far it seems that the only escape from this bug is to quit Apex Legends and then start it again. A few players have reported that they can still get hit by Termite or Shuriken when stuck in the box. Others claim that a Wraith portal can get you out if the train is moving.

If you head over to the Apex Legends Trello Board, then you won’t currently find any planned fix for this bug. This means that it hasn’t caught the attention of Respawn yet so they haven’t responded to it on the Reddit posts.

The developers already have their hands full at the moment with other bugs that are infecting the Holo-Day Bash 2020 event. This includes one that leads to players getting randomly killed on the train. Once they announce a fix for the latest bug, we’ll update you.

Apex Legends devs respond to criticism by adding cheaper Apex Coins option

Respawn Entertainment have responded to player feedback by introducing a cheaper Apex Coins option in the game.

Apex coins in Apex Legends

In response to complaints from Apex Legends players about the high cost of Apex Coins, Respawn Entertainment have added a cheaper currency pack option to the game.

Apex Coins are the premium currency in Apex Legends that can you purchase with real money and then spend in order to get your hands on new cosmetic items for your Legends and weapons.

You may have to purchase bigger currency packs in order to get yourself certain items, and the Apex Legends community has been frustrated with the high cost of these. Now, the devs have responded to this issue.

Apex Legends Coin pack options

Apex Legends players that don’t have enough currency to unlock a specific item end up having to spend a lot on bigger currency packs. The cheapest bundle that you could get contained 1,000 Apex Coins and would set you back $9.99.

This can be particularly frustrating if you only need to use a small portion of the Apex Coins in the pack. Now, Respawn and EA have addressed this problem by adding the option to purchase currency packs with a 500 coin bundle for $4.99.

Now, you’ll be able to get yourself a decent number of Apex Coins without having to spend an extremely large amount of cash. Players that only need 400 Apex Coins to buy something, and no longer need to spend a whole $10 to do so.

The addition of this option will come as a huge relief to players that were tired of paying for currency that they didn’t need for an insanely high cost.

At the time of writing, the Apex Legends developers haven’t officially announced this change, but the arrival of this cheaper currency pack shows that they were listening to community feedback.

When did Apex Legends come out?

Apex Legends has become one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, but when did it first release?

Apex Legends characters fighting

Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royales in the world, but when did it come out? Here’s everything you need to know about the game’s original release date.

From PUBG to Fortnite, Apex Legends to Warzone, the battle royale genre has truly dominated the gaming scene for the last five years. In fact, the mode has become so important to shooters that games that launch without one are viewed as missing a vital component.

Each battle royale brings its own spin to the genre, capturing the imagination of players looking for new experiences. For Fortnite, building set it apart from its opponents, while Warzone’s use of class loadouts made it different from anything else on the market.

For Apex Legends, the use of characters with special and unique abilities meant that nothing else on the market could match its high-octane action, and unsurprisingly, thousands still jump on and play years after its launch. But when did Apex Legends actually release?

apex legends lifeline

Respawn Entertainment have dropped a new patch for Apex Legends Season 13, which includes a variety of changes and even interactive objects for Lifeline’s Town Takeover.

In addition to the ranked split which occurred on June 28, Apex Legends has received a brand-new patch for Season 13, bringing a variety of bug fixes and updates to the game.

The Apex Legends 1.99 patch is small, but for those who are interested, here are the patch notes for the update.

Lifeline’s Clinic Easter Egg

This patch is very small, and Respawn Entertainment haven’t actually revealed patch notes for what the update actually brought to the game. However, thanks to dataminer Kralindo, we have information on what the update has done.

One of the most interesting changes in the patch is the addition of interactive objects in Lifeline’s Town Takeover.

In Lifeline’s Clinic, players can now play the drums, guitar, and more. Interacting with these objects will play audio, which is a little Easter Egg for Lifeline’s previous occupation as a punk band drummer, hence her drum sticks Heirloom.

Apex Legends 1.99 patch notes

Although there are no official patch notes for the Apex Legends 1.99 patch, luckily Kralindo has gone through the game’s code and figured out some of the changes.

There may be more changes server-side, but here are all the changes Kralindo managed to see:

  • Some small Newcastle tactical changes, most likely bug fixes
  • Lifeline town takeover interactive objects activated
  • 500 Apex Coins enabled in the store (via playlist)
  • Really small change for the Replicator

That’s all for the Apex Legends Season 13 1.99 patch. For more, check out how the ranked reset works.
