On Sunday, October 18, Treyarch released a new game settings update for the Beta that updated all weapons to have a Max rank for players. This should allow players the chance to experience all attachments across the beta and build out loadouts in the Gunsmith.

In addition, as mentioned earlier, the Black Ops Cold War Beta has been extended! It will now end on Tuesday, October 20 at 10AM PT – a 24 hour extension.

Stay tuned for the latest news as the Beta wraps up.

Saturday, October 17 Update:

Black Ops Cold War Beta is now an Open Beta on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 for all players — no pre-order or codes required!

You can start downloading and playing the Open Beta now by visiting the PlayStation Store, Xbox One Store, or Battle.net and downloading the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta file.

The beta file is 30GB on PS4, 20.1GB on Xbox One, and 40GB on PC.

If you’re having trouble finding it, here’s a direct link:

On PlayStation 4, PlayStation Plus is not required; on Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold is required. And for PC players, a valid and active Blizzard Battle.net account is required.

Alongside the beta becoming Open for everyone, Treyarch has increased the Level Cap to Level 40. More content is now available to unlock and test out, including:

  • WEAPONS: RPD light machine gun, RPG-7 launcher, Magnum pistol + more
  • PERKS: Quartermaster, Ninja
  • SCORESTREAKS: Air Patrol, Chopper Gunner
  • WILDCARD: Perk Greed
  • EQUIPMENT: Decoy, Semtex
  • FIELD UPGRADE: Jammer

In addition, Treyarch has made a playlist update to add a returning mode: Control! Control first debuted in Black Ops 4, and it’s back in Black Ops Cold War.

Control joins our selection of 6v6 modes in the Crossplay Open Beta. We’re excited to bring back this Black Ops 4 fan-favorite, where opposing teams fight to capture or defend two objectives on the map or wipe out the other team before running out of lives.

Each team of up to six players has 30 lives distributed among the team, injecting a new layer of strategy for both attacking and defending teams. Jump into Control this weekend on Cartel, Miami, and Moscow

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta Weekend 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC is live until Tuesday, October 20 at 10AM PT.

Drop in and get your last hands on experience with the game before the November 13 launch!

Friday, October 16 Update:

The Black Ops Cold War Beta Weekend 2 continues. Open Beta is LIVE on PlayStation 4, and Xbox & PC players can play with a digital pre-order.

New in the beta on October 16: Treyarch has activated Double XP and Double Weapon XP to help players level up!

Starting Friday, Oct. 16th, we’re enabling 2XP and 2X Weapon XP for everyone throughout the rest of the Crossplay Open Beta weekend!

We’ve heard your feedback about wanting to try out more attachments on the weapons available in the Beta, and with even more weapons joining the fray as we increase the level cap on Thursday and Saturday, we’re cutting the time it takes to level up your weapons in half. Enjoy!

This will allow you to get to higher player rank and weapon level in order to unlock and experience more of the content during the Beta.

Double XP and Double Weapon XP are live until the Beta ends.

The Black Ops Cold War Beta becomes an Open Beta on all platforms starting October 17 at 10AM PT.

Black Ops Cold War Beta ends Monday, October 19 at 10AM PT.
