Black Ops Cold War devs fix “ridiculous” LAPA SMG unlock requirement
Black Ops Cold War players have been frustrated with the seemingly impossible unlock requirements of the new Season 6 LAPA SMG, and the developers have responded to this problem.
Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is the last chapter before Vanguard releases on November 5, and the new season brought a ton of fun content for fans to enjoy, including the new LAPA SMG.
However, players have their fair share of problems with this new weapon, and one of them is the LAPA unlock requirements which seem “ridiculous.” The developers have noticed these complaints and fixed the issue.
One Black Ops Cold War player highlighted this issue in the game’s subreddit. The unlock requirements in multiplayer mode were written as “Using SMGS, kill 10 enemies rapidly 100 times.”
This is an absurdly high number and many players were confused about whether or not this was some sort of glitch. “Utterly ridiculous. Have fun using that gun in 2050,” one user jokingly stated.
However, a few fans pointed out that this is the challenge in Zombies mode, but a strange bug is causing it to show up in the game’s multiplayer challenge. This led to a response from one of the developers who reassured fans that they’ve fixed this bug.
On November 4, the official Treyarch Studios Twitter account announced a number of bug fixes in Black Ops Cold War, tweeting: “LAPA SMG unlock challenge in Multiplayer now displays the correct requirements.”
After the November 2 update, the LAPA SMG became available to unlock in Multiplayer and Zombies via weapon unlock challenge in case you missed it during The Haunting Halloween-themed event.
The real multiplayer challenge requires you to score 3 kills with SMGs while aiming down sights in 15 matches, which is much easier to accomplish than killing 10 enemies rapidly 100 times.
With so little time before Vanguard drops, it remains to be seen if the developers will implement some major changes to the Black Ops Cold War LAPA SMG in response to player complaints about the weapon.
