Black Ops Cold War Gunship bug gives player permanent thermal vision

Jimmy Russo

One Call of Duty player encountered a strange bug that kicked him out of his Gunship scorestreak, only to give him thermal vision for the rest of the match.

The Black Ops franchise is no stranger to game-breaking bugs, and the Cold War installment has seen quite a few in the first month of its release. Players are experiencing a host of issues with the game. Luckily, none of them seem to be overly common.

One player found a new bug while using the Gunship scorestreak. While in the middle of using his ship, the player was kicked out and placed back on the ground with one thing changed: his screen was stuck in thermal vision for the rest of the game.

Reddit user u/Prussian-Monarch recorded the bug and uploaded the clip to the platform. He was dumbfounded as he ran around the map with thermal vision, killing enemies who were outlined in white.

As many of the commenters mentioned, this bug served as a massive advantage. With permanent thermal vision, this player could see everyone around the map in a game where visibility can often be difficult.

No one else who commented on the thread claimed to have experienced this bug before, so it seems relatively isolated. We don’t know how he triggered it, but it obviously has something to do with the Gunship scorestreak.

Gunship Cold War

This bug may end up being in the game for a while, so long as it stays rare enough for only a few players to find. Try out the Gunship scorestreak if you’re eager to trigger a full game’s worth of thermal vision. It could be your best game on Cold War.
