Black Ops Cold War is best selling game of 2020 in US

The NPD Group has announced the data from the November 2020 US game market sales, and Call of Duty is on top – no surprise.

NPD has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the best selling game of November 2020 overall, and it was the best selling game on both PlayStation and Xbox for the month.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War was November’s best-selling game, and instantly becomes the best-selling game of 2020 year-to-date,” said Piscatella. “Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War represents 2020’s biggest launch. The title ranks first on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms for the month of November, as well as year to date.”

The data also revealed that the game is already the best selling game of the year, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare coming in at #2 best selling game of the year behind Black Ops Cold War.

NPD also confirmed Black Ops Cold War was the best selling game on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in November. This beats out Assassins Creed Valhalla and Marvel’s Spider Man titles on those platforms.

Call of Duty continues to see remarkable success overall. Activision announced on December 6 that Call of Duty generated $3 billion in net bookings overall in 2020.

Season One of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone begins on December 16 with a ton of new content.
