One of Black Ops Cold War’s most fearsome Sniper Rifles is the LW3 Tundra that can obliterate lobbies in single-shots. Here’s a full loadout guide to help you pick the right attachments and perks to make your LW3 a monster.
There’s less of an emphasis on Sniping in the most recent Call of Duty compared to recent years, but it still has plenty of capable killers. It doesn’t matter what new theme the latest CoD is incorporating, sometimes people just want to know what bolt-action Snipers they’ll be using.
The LW3 Tundra has proven to be exceedingly popular in CoD: Warzone Season 2, and it’s now once again in lots of Cold War player’s headlights. The right loadout helps the LW3 to punch harder than the Pelington 703, and it can rack up big scorestreaks.
Best LW3 Tundra Black Ops Cold War Class
We recommend that you equip the Gunfighter Wildcard as we ideally want as many gun-boosting attachments on the LW3 as possible.
Here are the best attachments for the LW3 Tundra in Treyarch’s Cold War:
- Optic: AN/PVS-4 Thermal
- Muzzle: Stabilizer .308
- Barrel: 28.2″ Tiger Team
- Body: Mounted Flashlight
- Underbarrel: Bipod
- Magazine: 7 RND
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Raider Pad
Our first attachment is going to be the AN/PVS-4 Thermal Optic as the scope can handle any of the maps that Cold War has to offer. With slight visibility issues in Cold War, thermal makes identifying targets a whole lot easier.
Next, we have the Stabilizer .308 and it’s a simple choice here as it reduces weapon sway at no extra cost. A big attachment here is the 28.2″ Tiger Team Barrel as this one is going to cost you starting ammo, however, it gives you a big boost to damage, fire rate, and bullet velocity. We feel the massive benefits, allowing you to one-shot more easily, easily outweigh the negatives.
For the body, we chose the Mounted Flashlight as we feel that the Thermal Scope is already helping us at greater distances, so some close-range assistance is useful. The Bipod offers 50% Horizontal AND Vertical recoil reduction, that simply cannot be scoffed at.
The 7 RND Magazine simply adjusts for the ammo we sacrificed by having the Tiger Team Barrel and gives you extra leeway in case you miss your shots and forget to reload.
The Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle gives us the most improved ADS time, which is a necessity with a big bulky Sniper Rifle like this. Finally, the Raider Pad Stock offers a huge increase to Sprint to Fire time and Aim Walking Movement speed – reduced hip fire accuracy shouldn’t be a factor given that we’re not looking to do that.
Best perks to use with Cold War LW3 Tundra
- Perk 1: Flak Jacket
- Perk 2: Assassin
- Perk 3: Gung-Ho
Flak Jacket is almost a universal requirement given how many explosives are flying around in a game of Call of Duty, especially as people try and sniff out your position. Providing you’re on a nice sniping scorestreak, Assassin will give your points tally a nice boost.
Gung-Ho is your “break in case of emergency” option as you will inevitably become involved in close-quarters combat and will need a trust SMG to quickly switch to.
Best field upgrade to use in Cold War LW3 Tundra
To complete your loadout, you’ll need to make sure you have a Trophy System equipped because even though you may have Flak Jacket enabled, a Trophy System can destroy incoming projectiles, and net you extra points in the process.
That completes your new LW3 Tundra loadout for Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War. It should make your Tundra an unstoppable laser-accurate one-shot machine.
Sniper-Only playlists and the addition of new Sniper Rifles means there is plenty left in the tank for the long-range community.

When does Warzone & Cold War Season 3 start? Season 2 end date
Warzone & Black Ops Cold War Season 2 has finally dropped, but when will they end, and when will Season 3 commence?
We’re fast approaching the end of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 2, so when does Season 3 begin and what does it have in store?
Ever since the integration of Black Ops Cold War into Warzone, we’ve seen a vast number of additions and changes to both games. The subsequent updates have allowed Verdansk to expand with Rebirth Island, and even incorporate Zombies into Warzone.
Warzone Season 2 has also introduced some other pretty hefty changes to the games including some pretty interesting map changes to freshen things up, and also two new weapons from Black Ops Cold War, the FARA 83 Assault Rifle and the LC10 SMG, that could shift the meta.
We’re already hearing mumblings and murmurs of potential new content for the future though, with Warzone Season 3 spying a huge revamp in April. So we begin to wonder, how long will Season 2 actually last for, and when can we expect CoD to drop Season 3 of both Black Ops Cold War & Warzone?
Warzone & Cold War Season 3 start date
Previous seasons of Modern Warfare and Warzone, before its numbered season reboot, usually lasted around 10 weeks, and this has proven to be the case for Warzone & Black Ops Cold War.
Season One officially began on December 16, 2020, with the newest season beginning on February 25, 2021. This is approximately a 10-week gap between both which is in keeping with type.
The current Battle Pass has presented a set date it’s expected to end, and a new season usually starts shortly after last season’s Battle Pass has expired. With the information we currently have, we can expect Season 3 to begin on April 22, 2021.
This lines up with the confirmed season end date of April 21, given in the first Warzone nuke event teaser. It says the event will go live at 12 PM, as Verdansk will be completely overtaken by the undead.
Cold War Season 3 weapons
Call of Duty leakers have discovered some upcoming weapons in Warzone’s game files. Since these files are usually only added when weapons are in the final stage before release, we might see them arrive in Season 3.
Among them was a fast-firing burst Assault Rifle that could potentially be a Tactical Rifle like the M16 and AUG. Another weapon in the files seemed to be an SMG described with ‘spray,’ which probably means that it boasts a high fire rate.
The classic Ballistic Knife from the original Black Ops will also be arriving in Warzone and Cold War in the upcoming season. This projectile melee weapon has become a staple of the Call of Duty franchise, so it’s an exciting addition.
The data miners also stated that a new full-auto pistol and a Baseball Bat melee weapon might be joining the game in the Season 3 Reloaded update or in Season 4.
Warzone & Cold War mid-Season 2 update
While we waited for Black Ops Cold x Warzone Season 3, Activision released a mid-Season update with a ton of new content on March 29 at 9PM PT.
This brought three new maps to the game’s multiplayer, with Golova for Fireteam, Mansion for Gunfight, and Miami Strike for 6v6. Also, for the Zombies fans out there, Sanatorium will be joining the roster of Ural Mountains maps available in the Outbreak game mode.
1980s revamp leaked for Warzone Season 3
We got a first look at what the next evolution of Verdansk will be in a celebrity commercial that was posted to Twitter. It showed the map getting a 1980s makeover with a specific focus on a few key areas.
Stadium, Dam, Airport, and the surrounding forestry were the highlighted locations in the video, along with some changes in Downtown. Later, another possible teaser was discovered in Verdansk’s Superstore in the form of a poster for the 1980s Moscow Summer Olympics.
We expect more teasers for Season 3 to pop up around Verdansk and Cold War’s multiplayer, and the ones that have been found make Warzone’s 1980s overhaul seem all the more likely.
We’ve still a bit of time to go until Season 3 and Activision will be busy concentrating on making Season Two the best it can be. They have already rolled out large-scale ban waves to accounts that are found to be guilty of cheating.
Speculation will already be ongoing as to what we’ll see in Warzone Season 3, including a massive event that could change Warzone forever.

Clever Cold War Zombies Outbreak trick makes Defend objectives easy
Clever Black Ops Cold War Zombies players have discovered how to easily complete Outbreak’s Defend objectives without having to fight.
‘Defend’ is one of CoD: Cold War Outbreak’s most difficult challenges, especially in the higher rounds, but this clever trick allows you to keep Zombies at bay with ease.
While fighting the undead in Cold War Zombies’ Outbreak mode, players will need to complete one of five main objectives to advance to the next round. Once you advance to the higher rounds, ‘Defend’ becomes one of the most challenging objectives.
You must defend an objective from three waves of Zombies with increasing difficulty. As Zombies get more powerful and frequent in the later rounds, one mistake can let you become quickly overwhelmed and lose you your life and the game.
Zombies players have long taken advantage of clever tricks to get the edge over the undead, such as skipping doors in Firebase Z before they got patched. Now, a Reddit user has shared a way to permanently keep the undead away from the Defend objective.
Reddit user BeThePancakes shared that “You can use the bikes to block off doors during Defend objectives.” This post has received over 4,000 ‘upvotes’ at the time of writing, showing it’s not something many of the Zombies community knew about.
BeThePancakes had to guard the objective inside Golova’s church and cleverly, they parked the bike inside the door to keep the undead at bay.
While you might think the Zombies would tear through the motorcycle, incredibly, they don’t even come near the bike and calmly stand outside the door, letting the objective time peacefully deplete.
According to user asecuredlife, “This is an open secret,” and you should “do it after an objective has started because vehicles will disappear.” BeThePancakes said that they parked the bike there beforehand on Golova, but considered that it’s far away enough from the objective for it to not disappear.
If you want an easier time surviving Defend rounds in Outbreak, make sure to park bikes in the doorways before you get overwhelmed. However, Treyarch will likely patch this, perhaps in the Season 3 update.

Warzone leak reveals upcoming Season 3 weapons
New leaks have potentially revealed the weapons that may come during Warzone x Black Ops Cold War Season 3.
Data miners have discovered several upcoming weapons in Warzone’s game files, including the classic Ballistic Knife, that are likely to arrive in Cold War and Warzone during Season 3.
Black Ops Cold War and Warzone players have now received all of Season 2’s weapons, with the LC10 shaking up Cold War’s meta and the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow providing a fun challenge. As Season 3 approaches, players are now looking forward to the next weapons to bolster their multiplayer and battle royale arsenals.
Neither Treyarch nor Raven Software have confirmed any of Season 3’s content, but known leaker ZestyCODLeaks has revealed that three new weapons have been added to the game files.
After the Season 2 Reloaded update, these weapon files were added to Warzone:
ZestyCODLeaks said that “these files are usually only added when weapons are in the final stage before release,” so it’s highly likely they will arrive in Season 3. While we can’t see what the weapons will look like from their file, we can get a taste of how they may perform.
There appears to be a new fast-firing burst Assault Rifle coming to the game. Like the M16 and AUG, this could be a Tactical Rifle, but perhaps its ‘fast burst’ feature will place it in the AR category. There’s also what could be an SMG described with ‘spray,’ which likely relates to a high fire rate.
Most exciting is the confirmation that the Ballistic Knife is set to arrive. First appearing in the original Black Ops, the Ballistic Knife has been a staple in the franchise. It’s no surprise that this projectile melee weapon will be making its way to Cold War and Warzone.
ZestyCODLeaks said there also will be a new full-auto pistol coming, perhaps in the Season 3 Reloaded update or in Season 4. Although the Sykov full-auto pistol has been leaked for Modern Warfare, this is likely to be a Cold War weapon, so it’s probably something different.
A Baseball Bat melee weapon has also been leaked for either Season 3 Reloaded or Season 4, which should be especially fun to crack Zombies’ skulls open with.
As with all leaks, there’s no confirmation that these weapons will arrive in Warzone or Cold War. Activision said that “with Season Three right on the verge of dropping, be on the lookout for a tease of what’s to come in Black Ops Cold War from Treyarch,” so we’re likely to know what’s coming soon.
