5 best Gunfight tips in Black Ops Cold War
Gunfight is a terrifically tense mode and requires proper skill. So we’ve come up with 5 great tips to make the mode even more fun in BOCW.
Gunfight is an extremely tight affair. The enclosed environments in BOCW make for some thrilling back-and-forth contests. But if you want to perform better and increase your chances of winning, then here are 5 of our best tips to improve.
The dynamic of Gunfight is vastly different from that of a normal game of Team Deathmatch. The greatly reduced numbers on each team combined with the smaller, more claustrophobic nature of the maps means that Gunfight needs a whole new way of thinking.
A more measured and tactful approach should be considered. If not, it’s easy to be overrun by your opposition round after round until you succumb to a crushing defeat. Take these tips and learn how to adapt to your surroundings.
BOCW best Gunfight tips
Not all of these tips may necessarily complement your playstyle, but you sometimes need to adapt to win.
Furthermore, these tips aren’t map-specific, so try and bear this in mind when you’re reading them as there isn’t one that will absolutely apply to Game Show or ICBM, for example.
1. Be aggressive
Airing on the side of caution is likely to get you killed in Gunfight due to its frantic nature. The rounds are short. The map is small. The likelihood of combat is certain.
You need to make sure you’re either part of it or the instigator of it. Unless you’re 0-5 down and clearly being outclassed, then offense is the best form of defense. Be on the front foot and catch your foes unaware. Be the hunter.
2. Watch the timer, be near the middle
You’d be amazed at how many rounds you can snatch by just simply being in the right place at the right time.
Some games can become cagey affairs. If this happens to you, at least make sure you stay somewhere near the middle of the map. Once the opportunity to claim the flag in the middle arises, you want to be in the prime position – either to claim it or to kill your opponent(s) going for it.
3. Inspect your loadout
When you’re thrust into a new game, you get a new loadout every two rounds. Quickly absorb all the information presented to you on your HUD before the round starts.
Otherwise, you might come face-to-face with the enemy team, having the advantage, and unload a round of burst fire into them. But because you think it’s a machine gun, you’re just holding the trigger, not firing, and now you’re dead. Always check what you’re given.
4. Teamwork and communication
Chances are that if you’re playing Gunfight then you’re doing so with a friend. Both of you having a headset is a must, but constant communication can also win rounds ahead of any discernible skill or ability.
If one of you has just killed an enemy, or you’re in a skirmish with someone, let the other person know. It doesn’t matter if it appears in the killfeed or anything like that. Keep talking. If it’s 2v1 and one of you knows where the final person is, speak up, hunt them down, and claim your round win.
5. Listen to the audio
In those fleeting moments of silence, make sure your headset is turned right up. If you have the Superhuman hearing function on your headset then that’s a bonus.
Again, due to the limited space, you can easily hear enemy footsteps near your position.
With these tips safely ensconced in your brain, Gunfight should now be an even more exciting prospect for you. Show more aggression, make use of your headset, and be alert.
All these are big factors in conquering and dominating Gunfight. May our advice serve you well.

How to make your CoD: Warzone & Black Ops Cold War stats public
Want people to see your private Call of Duty stats? This guide will tell you how to make your BOCW & Warzone stats public.
Want to make it so that the whole world can see your impressive Warzone & BOCW stats? Well, we can help you to unlock the default setting and make them public.
The annual tracking of stats is an essential part of CoD games for some people. Their K/D, points-per-game, and various other stats are badges of honor for seasoned Call of Duty veterans.
But if you have an expensive pair of shoes with no one to see them, is it even worth it? Thankfully there is a way to make your stats available for everyone to see and show-off your CoD ability.
Make Warzone & BOCW stats public
No one is completely sure as to why Activision made the decision to keep everyone’s stats private. Possibly to avoid people seeing the unrealistic stats of hackers, or maybe as a deterrent to stop people seeing people with high K/Ds only going for kills in Objective-based modes.
But the issue doesn’t seem to be that well-known as many influencers and content creators are unsure about the nature of stats and how they work.
At one point, Drift0r took to Twitter to discuss how it was difficult to see the skill level of a lobby because of the public/private settings.
The whole process can be a tricky one if you don’t know what to do. But if you follow our guide then your Average Joe will be able to gawk at your stats in no time.
- Go to the official Call of Duty website
- Login to your CoD account
- Head to the top-right corner and hover the cursor over your name
- Click on “Linked Accounts”
- Now tailor each platform to your own settings and preferences
- Set “Searchable” and “Data Visible” options to “All”
Now you’re all set and you’ve made the necessary changes. Like with most things, the changes won’t be enforced straight away. It may take some time for the servers and data to readjust accordingly.
After this change has taken place, your stats will now be visible for all to see. Now you can show off all your hard work to the world and continue to make your stats even better.

CoD leaker claims 8 more map remakes coming to Black Ops Cold War
Black Ops Cold War could be set for more nostalgia as a leaker has hinted that at least 8 previous CoD maps will be getting remakes.
It seems that Treyarch is already hard at work in trying to bring back lots of classic CoD maps to BOCW. A leaker has suggested that the developer is currently hard at work on as many as 8 remakes.
Some people take excpetion to devs remaking old maps instead of coming up with new and innovative ones. But at the end of the day, old content is still new content for BOCW.
Extra maps, in whatever form they may take, should always be welcomed. The recent addition of Raid has proved that there’s nothing wrong with some healthy nostalgia to keep fans invested.
8 map remakes coming to BOCW
Back in the day, Raid was an extremely popular map because of its setting and well thought-out layout. So CoD fans were more than accepting in seeing its return in Black Ops Cold War.
So when a well-known Call of Duty leaker says that Treyarch is actively working on 8 remakes for the online multiplayer, fans understandably become excited. New maps are a calculated gamble for devs because you can easily spend hours and hours working on a brand new map, only for the community to hate it.
It’s naturally just easier to give an old favorite a lick of paint.
Popular CoD leaker MW2 OG has indicated that this is the direction that Treyarch is indeed headed. In a recent Tweet, the leaker suggested that each new season of BOCW is going to continue to roll out old maps.
MW2 OG has leaked many important details in the past. So there is plenty of reason to believe the leak and salivate at the prospect of returning favorites.
This will now lead to speculation as to what we could see in the future. Will we be testing our aim one more time in Firing Range? Only time will tell.
What we do know is that if any of this information becomes more solid, you’ll be the first to know.
