Black Ops Cold War players call for one weapon class to get a new option
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 4 introduced some new weapons that players have enjoyed since release, but some think it’s time for one weapon class in particular to receive a new addition.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 4 saw the introduction of the Nail Gun, C58, and the MG 82. These weapons have been fairly well-received since their introduction, but some are wanting more.
We recently covered players who wanted to see the Olympia make a return to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, and it seems they’re not the only ones who want to see a new shotgun added to the game.
Players call for new Black Ops Cold War shotgun
With the Cold War Season 4 Reloaded update around the corner, Black Ops Cold War currently has three shotguns in its roster, the Hauer 77, Gallo SA12, and the Streetsweeper. This is a very low amount compared to the other classes, and players have started to pick up on this.
The only other weapon that players know will be coming during this season is the OTs 9, a new SMG for players to enjoy in Cold War and Warzone, but what about a new shotgun?
Reddit user GigatonneCowboy put up a post with the caption: “Feels Like It Is Time For A New Shotgun”
The post details which shotguns could be a good pick for Treyarch to add to the game, even mentioning the addition of “slug rounds” last seen in Modern Warfare.
Some of the shotguns the post mentioned included the AA-12 and the Soviet KS-23, which appeared solely in Call of Duty: Black Ops’ campaign mission “Operation 40.”
“the Soviet KS-23 seems like it would be perfect. High-recoil, slow-firing, but absolutely devastating. Give it slug rounds that would be extra-effective against equipment (great for sentry turrets and low-flying aerial streaks), plus wall penetration (quick range loss after punching through).”
It seems others are also in agreement, replying to the post saying: “I think we need another shotgun too, but something different. If it’s the AA-12, it’s going to be another spam shotgun, and I’d rather have something else. Possibly another pump, although if it’s the exact same as the Hauer 77, then I don’t see a point.”
Whatever the next weapon is, players will be awaiting the news and keeping track of the leaks until Season 5 is announced.
