Cold War fans call for the removal of disbanding lobbies

Black Ops Cold War fans have frequently expressed their frustration with the disbanding lobbies system, making them wait longer to join another game, so they’re asking Activision to remove it from the game.

A ton of new content has been added to Black Ops Cold War in the Season 3 Reloaded update, including various weapon buffs and nerfs, along with a Fireteam Elimination mode. However, fans are still upset with the disbanding lobbies feature.

This is when the game breaks the teams after a match ends, which keeps players from choosing to play in the same lobby. They’ll then have to wait as the game searches for a new lobby to play in, and many fans want this system to be removed.

Reddit user TheCyborgKaren made a post in the Black Ops Cold War subreddit, in which they explained how the disbanding lobbies feature leads to long wait times when you just want to start playing again right away.

“It took me a while to find a game but I eventually did,” wrote the user. “The game after required me being thrown back into the mixer of queued players meaning I had to wait a while to get back into the action. Keeping the original lobby would avoid this entirely…”

Persistent lobbies would let you stay with the same people that you’re having a fun time with, which would also reduce how long you have to wait before jumping into another game.

The comments were filled with various other players who also voiced their dissatisfaction with disbanding lobbies. “It caused me to drop this game all together,” wrote another user. “-There is no point anymore..you play, you shoot, you die, respawn and repeat.”

The Black Ops Cold War alpha actually did have persistent lobbies, so players didn’t have to deal with longer waiting periods in between matches. However, this was changed for the final release, much to the chagrin of fans.

It remains to be seen whether or not Activision will bring back persistent lobbies in the future of this title. Players have also been asking for further updates to the game’s playlists and SBMM system.
