Black Ops Cold War PS4 Beta Weekend 1 Now Offline
Weekend 1 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta on PS4 is here. We’ve got everything you need to know in this post.
UPDATE – Monday, October 12: The Black Ops Cold War PS4 Open Beta Weekend 1 is now offline. The beta returns for Weekend 2 starting October 15. Get the schedule here and stay tuned for the latest info!
UPDATE – Saturday, October 10: The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta is now open to everyone on PlayStation 4!
All PlayStation 4 players, regardless of preorder, can now download and experience Black Ops Cold War MP ahead of its November 13 launch. Players can visit the PS4 Store on their console and search for ‘Black Ops Cold War’ to find the beta file. If you want to download it remotely, you can do so on the PlayStation Web/Mobile Store.
PlayStation Plus is not required for the Beta (except in German, due to laws).
Alongside the beta becoming an open beta, Treyarch has made some updates to the game:
- New Mode: Combined Arms: Assault added
For new players jumping in, the Level Cap is at 25 for this weekend. Experience Quick Play modes with TDM, Kill Confirmed, and Domination, and new modes like Combined Arms and VIP Escort.
Weekend 1 ends Monday, October 12 at 10AM PT.
The beta returns as an Open Beta for everyone on PlayStation 4 October 15 through October 19, plus debuts on Xbox One and PC. Weekend 2 details to be revealed soon. Stay tuned.

Thursday, October 8:
Treyarch has officially activated the Beta Servers for players on PlayStation 4 that have pre-ordered Black Ops Cold War. Pre-loading the Beta was available earlier this week for PS4 players who pre-ordered digitally.
Black Ops Cold War Early Access Beta for PS4 features 6v6 modes and 12v12 Combined Arms: Domination, with more modes to be added as the beta continues.
Player can access the Gunsmith in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during the Beta to test out the Weapon customization and building system.

Treyarch has released a breakdown of what to expect during the first weekend of the PS4 Beta.
On October 8, the level cap will be Rank 16, and modes will include TDM, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Combined Arms: Domination.
Treyarch will expand the beta to include VIP Escort on Friday, October 9, and expand the Level Cap to 25.
To coincide with the Open Beta starting on October 10 on PS4, Treyarch is adding in Combined Arms: Assault, alongside the modes available.
The Early Access Period of the Black Ops Cold War Beta on PS4 ends on October 10. On October 10, the Beta becomes an Open Beta for everyone on PlayStation 4. PS+ Subscription is not required (except Germany).

Treyarch has also provided a full list of changes they’ve made since the Alpha, with specific topics touched on including movement, scorestreaks, Gunsmith, and before. See the full patch notes before you dive into the beta.
The studio also announced a major new addition: Field of View Slider on all platforms. Players can change the default FOV value from 60 to a larger value to see more on their screen. This feature has been on PC for a while, but now makes its debut on the consoles.
As a reminder, players who reach Level 10 in the Beta will get a SMG Blueprint in Black Ops Cold War at launch. And for those enjoying Call of Duty: Mobile, playing the Black Ops Cold War beta will unlock Russell Alder character.
