Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will represent one of the last new waves of content for Treyarch’s FPS title. Here’s everything we know about its potential start date, Season 4’s end date, and new guns and maps.

As to be expected, Season 4 of Cold War turned out to be quite a hefty update adding all-sorts of new gear to the game. As well as destructive new weapons like the MG 82 LMG and C58 Assault Rifle, we also got the new Ground Fall Event and even an overpowered new Scorestreak.

Things always move on though, so we’re going to analyze the probable end date of Black Ops Cold War Season 4, and the start of Season 5.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4 end date

As with every new season of Call of Duty, there is a new Battle Pass to give us the necessary information to work out the season’s end date.

The Battle Pass for Season 4 expires on August 10. Meaning players will have until then to max out their pass before Season 5 starts.

CoD never has any truly significant downtime between seasons, and the transition between Cold War Season 4 and Season 5 should be no different.

As such, Season 5 should get underway on August 11, with all of the Season’s advertised launch content joining it.

Each new Call of Duty season usually introduces a bunch of new weapons for players to unlock and use in Black Ops Cold War.

As well as the aforementioned MG 82 and C58, Season 4 also welcomed the Nail Gun, Mace, and the upcoming OTs SMG. There’s no word yet as to what new weapons we will see in Season 5, but we are sure that Treyarch has some punchy new firearms and brutal new melee weapons in the works.

CoD: Cold War Season 5 new maps

The standout highlight of CoD: Cold War Season 5’s new map selections has to be the return of Hijacked. The exotic Cruise ship returned to house more tense skirmishes across its expensive decks.

As well as Hijacked, Cold War Season 4 also added Collateral Strike as a new 6v6 map, Amsterdam for 2v2 and 3v3, and ‘Rush’ is due in-season.

Until the expected mid-season update has dropped, we expect little official information regarding any potential new maps for Season 5. Although a leak in January has proved to be quite accurate regarding map leaks, it’s possible we’ll see more map remakes.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to report on everything that Black Ops Cold War Season 4 has in store for us, and we’ll be the first to break any Cold War Season 5 news here at Charlie INTEL.

Black Ops Cold War players call for devs to add custom emblems

Some Black Ops Cold War players are asking the developers to introduce a fan-favorite system from previous Treyarch titles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has done a pretty good job at making people feel nostalgic about previous Treyarch titles, but some players are now asking for the classic custom emblem system.

From remastered maps to classic weapons, Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty has stayed true to its Black Ops roots, giving players who are familiar with the franchise a sense of comfortability.

One thing Treyarch is yet to bring back to the series is the infamous custom emblems, which allowed players to create their own individual emblems to show off.

Reddit user AllergicToAnime put a post up expressing the wish for custom emblems to return while also giving their reasons.

Black Ops Cold War has taken on a seasonal format with its integration with Warzone. This means that players are given emblems in the season passes, which can be various things.

The argument is that these season pass emblems aren’t creative enough for players to express themselves, wanting more for player identification and customization.

Of course, the custom emblems from previous Black Ops games were fairly controversial, as players would often create things a little too explicit.

Some in the post’s comments are even against them returning, claiming that these custom emblems are a “double edged sword,” with some choosing to create inappropriate images.

However, the detail and creativity that players could get out of the mechanic were quite incredible, creating detailed pieces of art or even just simple personalized symbols.

However, there are also some in the comments who agree too, as one stated: “Those were the days man I used to love the custom emblems back in the day.”

Hopefully, if they do bring it back, they can moderate it and prevent people from using it for negativity.

Black Ops Cold War players want to see an Olympics-inspired weapon

Black Ops Cold War players have suggested Treyarch add a brand-new Olympics-themed weapon to celebrate the worldwide competition.

With the Olympics in full swing, Black Ops Cold War players have suggested Treyarch add some in-game items to celebrate the competition, namely a brand-new weapon.

After being postponed, Tokyo’s 2020 Olympics has finally begun. Call of Duty often releases items and hosts events to tie in with worldwide competitions and celebrations, such as 2020’s Games of Summer event and the soccer skins for the Euros.

A Black Ops Cold War fan has suggested that a new Olympics-inspired weapon would be the perfect fit for Call of Duty, and players are loving the idea.

Nail Gun in Black Ops Cold War Season 4

Alongside the realistic firearms that make up Call of Duty’s arsenal, there are also some weird and wacky additions. For example, Cold War and Warzone Season 4 added a Nail Gun to take down your opponents with.

Reddit user bobbobaran suggested that the Biathlon Rifle should be added to the game to celebrate the Olympics. Although not the military-grade tool that CoD fans are used to, it’s no stranger than a Nail Gun.

The Biathlon Rifle is an ultra-lightweight bolt action rifle that’s used for target shooting in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. It fires .22LR rounds which are extremely common and used in a wide variety of weapons. While not as powerful as the ZRG 20mm, for example, Treyarch can adjust the stats to make it competitive.

Players were unsure what category this Olympics weapon could fall into – Special Weapon, Tactical Rifle, or Sniper Rifle? This would all depend on how it would be balanced. It could work as both a fast-firing quickscoping machine or a highly accurate long-range sniper.

Will we ever see the Biathlon Rifle in Call of Duty? It’s impossible to say. But at the very least, it could become a Blueprint for one of the existing Sniper Rifles.

Best QBZ-83 loadout for Black Ops Cold War Season 4

Lightweight and compact, the QBZ 83 is one of Cold War Season 4’s most understated weapons with the right loadout & attachments.

Player using the QBZ 83 in Cold War

Season 4 of Black Ops Cold War has seen a number of weapons come to the forefront, and with the right attachments and perks, the QBZ-83 Assault Rifle can potentially hold its own.

Throughout the lifespan of Cold War, incredible weapons like the XM4, MP5, and AK-74u have dominated the meta, with many opting to use them over any other gun in the game.

Other guns have come into the fold to further broaden horizons with the outrageously powerful LC10 making a strong case for being the meta gun. With the right loadout and class setup, the QBZ can be the perfect gun for players looking to take on enemies at range, without sacrificing the ability to move around the map at speed.

Here’s everything you need to turn the QBZ-83 into a devasting weapon in your arsenal.

Best Cold War Season 4 QBZ-83 attachments

QBZ 83 in Black Ops Cold War gunsmith
  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake 5.56
  • Barrel: 13.7″ Cavalry Lancer
  • Underbarrel: Foregrip
  • Handle: Quickdraw Handle
  • Stock: Tactical Stock

Pairing the Muzzle Brake 5.56 with the Foregrip is important for control, as this will reduce both the horizontal and vertical recoil and make it much easier to hit your shots.

With the QBZ-83 acting as a mobile AR, the Quickdraw Handle will be the perfect accessory to help you aim down sights quickly while you’re rotating around the map.

Finally, once you’ve found your target and started to fire, you’ll want to be able to keep your crosshairs on your enemy while you shoot. This is where the Tactical Stock comes in, as it improves the stability of the weapon.

Best perks to use with Cold War Season 4’s QBZ-83

Tactical Mask perk
  • Perk 1: Tactical Mask
  • Perk 2: Scavenger
  • Perk 3: Ghost

Tactical Mask is a must in Black Ops Cold War, and with the QBZ-83 allowing you to move around the map faster than other Assault Rifle players, you’ll likely find yourself in the middle of stuns and flashes fairly regularly.

Scavenger is useful to keep your ammo replenished as the QBZ-83 has one of the faster rates of fire in its class, while Ghost will keep you hidden from enemies’ pesky UAVs.

How to unlock the QBZ-83 in Cold War Season 4

If you want to have a go with the QBZ-83, then you’ll simply need to reach Level 31, and it will become yours to equip.

Once you’ve done that, then you can go about unlocking every single attachment for it to equip the right ones for the job.

Best alternatives to Cold War’s QBZ-83 SMG

If you’ve experimented and feel like the QBZ-83 isn’t for you after all, then there are perfectly acceptable replacements should you need them.

The Swiss K31 is fun for quickscoping, the KSP 45 is a weapon reborn in Cold War, and the Krig 6 remains a veritable destroyer of CoD lobbies.

That’s the QBZ-83 sorted for you in Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer. Also, see our tier list of every weapon in Black Ops Cold War to see where we rank them all, and if you enjoy battle royale, then check out our ranking of every Warzone weapon.
