Black Ops Cold War weapon & streaks tuning coming by Season 1

With Black Ops Cold War out now, players have already been asking the developers to make updates and changes to weapons and streaks.

Players have sent in feedback via social media over different weapons that are appearing to be overpowered in matches.

One of the most prominent weapons that is causing some issues is the MP5, which is a very powerful weapon in this game. Clips shared since launch show how the MP5 crushes other weapons in 1 to 1 gun fights on matches.

Now, Treyarch’s Lead Designer Tony Flame has commented on weapon balancing updates. He says that the studio won’t make any changes right now because it’s ‘too soon.’ “Already seeing some interesting trends in the analytics, but it’s too soon for conclusions,” Flame says in a tweet.

Flame says that they need time to get more data as more players progress and experience more weapons. However, he says they plan to make their first weapon & streak tuning pass by the release of Season One, if not sooner. Season One arrives on December 10.

Flame confirms that they’ve been monitoring all of the feedback players have been sending in via social media and other channels. They are taking everything into “consideration” while tuning weapons and streaks.

Season One of Black Ops Cold War begins on December 10. Season One features new maps, weapons, Zombies modes, new Prestige levels, and more.

As always, please stay tuned for the latest news on Black Ops Cold War, including upcoming updates. The next major update for the game will be Nuketown ’84, which arrives on November 24.
