Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will follow Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s feature set in providing fans with a joint experience.

Black Ops Cold War will feature cross play with all platforms – PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. Players will be able to play with their friends regardless of platforms. And similar to Modern Warfare, player progression will transfer between all platforms.

Black Ops Cold War will feature cross generation crossplay support, with cross progression for all players to play together. The title features cross-play support across current and next generation systems with cross progression across all modes.

In addition, the company has announced that there is no Season Pass for Black Ops Cold War. All post launch MP map DLC will be free. Activision confirms a steady stream of content for MP, Zombies, and more to come throughout the post launch seasons.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also offer a Battle Pass system and deliver a steady stream of free post-launch content, including multiplayer maps and modes, Zombies experiences along with a robust schedule of in-game community events.

And, the Battle Pass system introduced In Modern Warfare will return in Black Ops Cold War. Activision announced changed to monetization in their games with Modern Warfare in 2019, eliminating loot boxes in favor of a Battle Pass system.

Fans who order the Ultimate Edition of Black Ops Cold War will get Season 1’s Battle Pass Bundle when available.
