Cold War bug still resetting classes after update despite devs fix claim
A peculiar Black Ops Cold War Season 2 glitch has appeared in the game that is massively inconveniencing players by resetting their classes when they sign in. Despite claims from Treyarch’s devs that the problem has been fixed, this doesn’t appear to be the case.
Season 2 Reloaded is upon us and a big wave of new content is set sweeping across Cold War and Warzone in one fell swoop. Warzone is getting new streaks to use, Cold War is getting another booming Sniper Rifle, and even Modern Warfare is on the receiving end of a surprising map update.
But for all the good, it always seems like there’s a negative that has to be thrown into the mix. This time it comes in the form of a time-consuming bug that is resetting custom Cold War classes. Many players have claimed that upon starting up the game, their loadouts have all been reset, causing players to rebuild them from scratch.
Given the severity and scale of the bug, Treyarch quickly responded to a Reddit post publicly lambasting the unfortunate glitch in the system.

Renowned Treyarch dev FoxhoundFPS said, “We’re aware of this issue. If you didn’t log into Black Ops Cold War between approx. 9PM and 10PM PT, your classes should be fine. If you played during the first hour of the update, you’ll want to restart and create them again.”
However, since that reply was issued, the ensuing hours have garnered more responses from frustrated players that claim the bug is still happening to them.
bandmalex said, “After the update yesterday I had to redo all my loadouts. Today, I open the game and they were all reset again.”
Other commenters also reported similar circumstances, and it seems like the cause of the bug may actually extend past people signing into the game in its first hour of the update.
We’ll keep monitoring the situation to see if Treyarch’s devs address repeated claims of their loadouts being reset as it’s leaving players anxious about signing in and having to redo all of their hard work.
