The latest news ahead of the BOCW Season One launch is a returning mode for players who like the more casual Call of Duty game modes.

Recently, we’ve seen a non-stop torrent of new details about Treyarch‘s upcoming Season One launch for Black Ops Cold War. And it appears to show no signs of easing up either.

Thanks to some bits and pieces that have made their way to the internet, we’ve been able to ascertain the specifics about a new game mode on the way.

Give them big props

An endless night of Call of Duty can see a player reel off game upon game of Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Domination. The bloodshed, the scorestreaks, the damaged K/Ds, it’s all part and parcel of CoD.

But isn’t it nice to chill sometimes? Well, that’s definitely going to happen with BOCW’s returning mode. Season One is set to reintroduce Prop Hunt back to the game’s playlists and have various inanimate objects run wild on the game’s maps.

A well-known Call of Duty leaker ModernWarzone posted a tweet indicating that it was coming back.

Additionally, a YouTube video from How Are You ATVI has been uploaded by a CoD dataminer that reveals some voice lines for the game mode.

How to play Prop Hunt

If you’re unfamiliar with the amusing nature of Prop Hunt, you basically have two teams in the traditional 6 v 6 format. One team is attacking, and one team is…hiding.

The attackers need to work together and identify the props that the other team is disguised as. You’ll get intermittent hints that will point you in the right direction, and you merely need to inflict enough damage on the prop.

If you’re on the other team, you need to unleash your inner chair, lamp post, table, mannequin, and do your best to imitate the environment and blend in naturally. You’ll have a limited amount of flashes to stun and disorient your opponent, and you can also change your form a select amount of times too.

Prop Hunt is a bizarrely entertaining mode that provides a less serious take on Call of Duty and provides some comic relief and a break from online multiplayer seriousness.

Expect to see it when Season One launches on December 16.
