How to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Cold War & Warzone
Here’s how you can unlock Season 2’s R1 Shadowhunter crossbow for use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
Black Ops Cold War x Warzone Season 2 is set to bolster its vast array of weapons further by adding the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow to the game. Fans have been anxiously awaiting its arrival, and even got a small taste of it when it was accidentally added to the game early on March 18.
Treyarch has now officially released the weapon for use in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone.
If you want to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter for yourself, here’s how to unlock it in Cold War and Warzone.
How to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow
The R1 Shadowhunter is described as a weapon that “launches lethal bolt projectiles to silently eliminate enemies. Excellent hip-fire accuracy with good handling. Bolts must be manually loaded.” In Black Ops Cold War, it is a secondary listed under the “Special” category, along with the M79 grenade launcher.
To unlock the crossbow, “Using a weapon with no attachments, get 3 One Shot, One Kill medals in 15 different matches.”
As a way of apology for those that unlocked the weapon on March 18 and then had it taken away from them, they only need to complete this in one match.
The optimal way to unlock the Shadowhunter is to use a barebones LW3-Tundra Sniper Rifle to achieve your first three kills in a game. As long as those kills are all done in a single shot, you’ll be done with your in-game challenge fast.
Just make sure you don’t leave any games before they end, or your progress made towards the R1 Shadowhunter for that game will not count.
If you don’t own Cold War but want to unlock the Shadowhunter in Warzone, we recommend dropping into Plunder or solos and go for one-shot kills with a Kar98k with no attachments.
That’s it! When you’re done, you’ll have access to one of the most iconic weapons of the Black Ops franchise. If you haven’t already, ensure you’ve also unlocked yourself the rest of the Season 2 weapons, like the E-Tool melee weapon, LC10 Submachine Gun, or FARA 83 Assault Rifle.
