New bug leaves Black Ops Cold War Season 2 unplayable
Many players are excited about trying out the brand new content that’s available in Black Ops Cold War Season 2, but it seems that a new bug is prevented them from playing the game at all.
Call of Duty fans have experienced their fair share of different bugs and glitches over the years. This includes ones that would completely freeze the game or make players turn invisible. Now, a brand new one is affecting Cold War players.
Season 2 began with the arrival of the February 24 update, but it seems that a new bug has come along with it that prevents players from joining the game. Here’s everything we know about this glitch, including how to fix it.
Black Ops Cold War Season 2 bug is locking out players
Downloading the Black Ops Cold War Season 2 update is a huge, time-taking process due to the gigantic size of the game. Once it’s done with, you’ll immediately want to hop into a match and start ranking up your Battle Pass.
The new bug is getting in the way of that goal, as multiple players are reporting that the latest update is keeping them from entering the game. Instead, they’ll be redirected to a screen asking them to purchase it, even though it’s already in their library.
Reddit user eortiz13 posted a screenshot of this in the Black Ops Cold War subreddit. He made it clear that he already owns a copy of the game, and that it won’t even allow him to open up the menu.
How to fix the bug
So far, these reports have mainly come from Xbox players, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that PlayStation and PC owners will go unaffected. A few players gave some suggestions in the comments about how to fix it.
You can try contacting Activision and Microsoft Support to ask for help, or to get a refund. You can also visit ‘Manage Game’ to make sure all content packs are properly installed, or try uninstalling then reinstalling the game.
The exact cause of this issue isn’t known yet, but we hope that that Activision or Microsoft will implement a fix before players start asking for refunds.
