Treyarch announces major weapon balances coming to Cold War in Season 2
Black Ops Cold War will be receiving changes across many guns for the huge Season 2 midseason update.
For Season 2’s midseason update, players have anxiously been awaiting several changes to Black Ops Cold War weapons, which have remained mostly untouched since December 2020. Now it appears Treyarch will be shaking up the core gunplay of Black Ops Cold War in the next major update, slated to drop during the week of March 28, 2021.
In a Tweet by Treyarch, the upcoming balance changes were teased, listing all the weapons that will be changed. Here’s the full list:
- LC10
- AK-74u
- MAC-10
- KSP 45
- Milano 821
- Krig 6
- FFAR 1
- Groza
- Magnum
- 1911
- RPG-7
In addition, Treyarch has also stated that the Light Machine Guns (the entire category) will get various weapon adjustments, along with Launchers being buffed against Flak Jacket in the hardcore modes, so we’re willing to bet those Rocket Launcher challenges will get a bit easier when the mid-season update arrives.
Treyarch also mentions that more changes will be coming to the game in the update, so if you didn’t spot a weapon you want to be changed, there’s still a chance you’ll get your wish when the full patch notes drop on the Treyarch blog on Monday.
We hope these long-awaited changes will provide massive overhauls to the gunplay of Black Ops Cold War, and provide players with some much needed balance changes across the many weapons of the game. Perhaps the entire meta of the game will be shook in the upcoming weeks, causing professional play to change entirely.
Until then, stay frosty. We’ll be sure to update you with any developments and changes coming in the midseason update to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
