Black Ops Cold War’s new maps are broken on PC
Season One has officially launched in Black Ops Cold War and all the new content is live. Except that some of the content is already broken, buggy, and unplayable for PC players with any attempt to play the new maps on PC resulting in an error called ZED 398.
All of the new content for BOCW is finally here and gamers have a variety of different toys to play with. This includes new maps, Operators, Modes, and guns, Treyarch’s newest Call of Duty just got bigger and badder.
Unfortunately PC players aren’t quite receiving the same experience as console players. A notable bug has been found that is giving players an error every time they try and join a match featuring one of the new maps.
BOCW maps error
After Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 1 were delayed recently, it’s only increased the hype and excitement for all the additions. BOCW has featured a bit less base content than in recent years, but its arsenal is certainly bolstered by the Season One update.

However, if you’re attempting to play Raid, Rebirth Island, The Pines, or any of the new maps on PC, then you’re not going to have a good time.
Any attempts to enter these maps on PC leads to an error message popping up on the screen. It says: “An error occurred: Zed 398 Swift Clover”.
The good news is that content creator Drift0r has informed any frustrated PC CoD players that this isn’t going to be a permanent problem, tweeting:
“Bad news for BOCW PC players: The new maps will not load at all. You just get an error message. Good news: Treyarch is aware and already working on it”.
So even though it’s not ideal for people that are desperate to get stuck into the new Season One items, it should only be a temporary disturbance.
We’ll update you once the update is live.
