Call of Duty World League Championship Groups to be revealed via a live stream on Aug. 15

Activision has announced that they will reveal the groups for the Call of Duty World League Championship, presented by PlayStation 4, on Monday, August 15 via a live stream on Twitch and YouTube. A total of 32 teams will be competing at the CWL Championship for their share of the $2 million prize pool. The 32 teams will be placed into eight groups of four.

On August 15, 2016, a live broadcast will determine the grouping for all the qualified teams. Four teams will face off against each other in each of the eight groups during the first part of the tournament. The top two teams from each group will move on to the bracket stage. Once at that stage, teams will face off in a double elimination bracket to determine the winner of the most important Call of Duty competitive event of the year. The winning team will take home the lion’s share of the $2 million prize pool as part of the closing festivities at Call of Duty XP, the ultimate interactive experience and fan celebration, taking place in Inglewood, California, September 2 – 4, 2016.

The Call of Duty World League Championship will take place September 2-4, 2016 at Call of Duty XP. Tickets to attend are still on sale here. Activision recently confirmed that the CWL Championship will feature a double elimination bracket, with a best of five matches. Teams will compete for the biggest Call of Duty prize pool yet, $2 million.

Thus far, 22 teams for the CWL Championship, out of the 32 total, have been determined. The remaining ten teams will be from North America and will be determined on August 12-14 with the NA Online Qualifiers. If your team is interested in competing, sign ups are available here. Out of the all the teams that do sign up, the top 32 teams with the most CWL Pro Points will get to play in the qualifiers. The top 10 teams will secure a spot at Call of Duty Championship.
