ESRB Rating Board has officially posted the rating description for Call of Duty: WWII ahead of the game’s launch on November 3. The description provides a glimpse into how gory the game will in fact be. As expected, the title is rated MATURE (17+).

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of an American soldier through the Allied campaign in Europe during WWII. Players use machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, and explosives to kill enemy soldiers; some weapon attacks result in decapitation and/or dismemberment, leaving bloodstains and body parts on the ground. Battles are frenetic and accompanied by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and large explosions. Cutscenes also depict instances of violence: a prisoner shot in the head at close-range; enemy soldiers shooting themselves to avoid capture. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the dialogue.
