When do MW2 guns arrive in Modern Warfare 3?
ActivisionMW3 is a direct sequel to MW2, which is why you’ll see weapons from Modern Warfare 2 in the new game. Here’s all you need to know about when Modern Warfare 2 guns will be arriving in MW3.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be an entirely new CoD experience, complete with its own weapons, modes, maps, campaign, and other features. However, as a direct sequel to MW2 (2022), the game will be carry over plenty of content from its predecessor.
With Modern Warfare 3 set to be released on November 10, players are wondering what kind of content will be carried over and when it will appear in the new game. Fortunately, we know that MW2 weapons will be carried over, so here’s when they’ll be available in Modern Warfare 3.
Will MW2 weapons be in MW3 at launch?
Modern Warfare 2 guns will be available in Modern Warfare 3 at launch as part of the content carrying over to the sequel.
While the devs confirmed that MW2 weapons will appear in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer on day one of the game’s official launch, they will not appear in the MW3 beta.
While all weapons you unlocked in Modern Warfare 2 will be available in Modern Warfare 3 at launch, players are wondering what this means for weapons they’ve yet to unlock.
Luckily, the devs confirmed that weapons that you did not unlock in Modern Warfare 2, such as Battle Pass weapons, will have a new unlock challenge in Modern Warfare 3.
“All Modern Warfare II weapons will be available for Modern Warfare III players, although each weapon’s associated unlock challenge must be completed before it becomes accessible in MWIII,” explain the devs. For example, if you fail to unlock MW2 Season 5’s FR Avancer, an unlock challenge for the weapon will be waiting for you in MW3.
In addition, you’ll want to keep in mind that the weapons you’ve unlocked in Modern Warfare 2 that carry over to Modern Warfare 3 will maintain their level status. This means that all unlocks and attachments for that weapon will appear in Modern Warfare 3 as well.
Furthermore, weapon level and progress will be synced across Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. This means you can level the weapon up in either game and it’ll keep the same level across both titles.
