After several teasers in the MW2 Campaign and Raids mode, Vladimir Makarov returns as a new character for Modern Warfare 3.
One of the most despised and yet emblematic antagonists of the Modern Warfare saga has received a new look, and players will have to face him again in SledgeHammer Games’ MW3.
Introduced by Captain Price as the “ultimate threat,” and “a force of evil, who seeks to tear the world apart, piece by piece.”, Makarov is deemed an immense threat. As Makarov faces Price and his Task Force 141 again, players are eagerly diving into the game and hoping that our beloved characters emerge triumphant.
In previous titles, Vladimir Makarov served as the head of an Ultranationalist extremist group mentored by Imran Zakhaev. He remained an unseen, influential antagonist in the initial Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and later emerged as the primary antagonist in the original Modern Warfare 3 in 2011.

Bulgarian actor Julian Kostov is in charge of giving life to the well-known character of Makarov in Modern Warfare 3, sharing the news on his social media.
Kostov is an actor and producer known for his participation in series and movies like Shadow and Bone (2021), Temple (2019), and the upcoming 1984’s The Toxic Avenger remake.
