Call of Duty: Vanguard’s rumored Warzone map could see the size of lobbies increased, according to renowned data miner Tom Henderson.

Tom Henderson has struck again, but not with information about Battlefield 2042, this time he’s revealed that Warzone’s new World War map is set to resemble Battlefield V’s Firestorm game mode, but with more players.

Battlefield’s take on battle royale only had room for 64 players, and it’s expected that Warzone’s version of the mode will probably up this significantly to match the usual Warzone lobby numbers.

In an interesting Tweet, Tom described what he believes is happening to the new map saying “The more I hear about the Pacific-themed Warzone map, the more I like it.

“It sounds like it’s going to be a lot like Firestorm with limited destruction, more vehicle play, and more players. They are definitely changing the formula to keep people playing.”

As well as the message, he also attached some images to it, perhaps an indicator of the kind of vehicles and setup we can expect in the new map.

If this all turns out to be true, then it would be a very interesting approach to Warzone. Firestorm was well-liked, but microtransactions and a lukewarm response to Battlefield V as a whole meant that the player count, and interest, was already low by the time it rolled out.

Furthermore, the addition of more vehicles could prove to be controversial, with content creator JGOD suggesting that an “oversaturation of vehicular combat” could be a major negative for Battlefield 2042.

His words should be taken with a pinch of salt like with any leak, but his leaks regarding Battlefield 2042 basically all turned out to be true. His drawings of the robot combat dogs were accurate and he also said that the game wouldn’t launch with a campaign.
