Call of Duty players relive hilarious menu meme after Vanguard reveal
It started out as just a meme, but the Call of Duty menu won’t stop growing following the official reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
When Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was revealed, it was scrutinized for more than just a long name. Players would have to access the game via the main menu, which also had Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Players assumed that this menu would stop at three games, but Activision proved them wrong. During the reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard, players got a look at the new menu. It will contain all four games for players to choose from.
This was predicted by a meme posted to Reddit and now uses are reliving the Call of Duty menu meme.
Call of Duty menu meme lives on
The meme in question was originally posted eight months ago by u/xDex_ to the r/blackopscoldwar subreddit. Captioned “the Call of Duty menu in 2024”, the meme depicted a menu where players could select from eight different games.
The titles themselves were pretty hilarious, focusing on how CoD jumps all over history. However, what started as a meme would start to become a reality.
User u/niddLerzK reposted the meme to r/CODWarzone with the caption “maybe not a meme anymore.” With the menu continuing to grow, we could see eight different titles on screen.
Moreso than the ridiculous size of the menu, players seem to like the idea of these fictitious games. Many comments wished that “Prehistoric Warfare” was a real game or wished to see Black Ops in the Civil War.
Maybe Activision should take a few notes from this meme if it hasn’t already.
It remains to be seen just how many games will be added to the Call of Duty menu heading into the future. Still, it has no doubt provided a source of entertainment for the community following the additions of Black Ops Cold War and now Vanguard.
