When does CoD Mobile Season 2 start?
Call of Duty Mobile underwent a rebirth of sorts by having its 14th Season reset and start from Season 1 again. This soft reboot was great, but fans are already looking ahead to see what Season 2 could bring.
To possibly save CoD Mobile from being affected by number-fatigue, the game has reverted to Season 1 for its first major content drop of 2021. The “New Order” update has introduced new modes, a new map, and much more.
The devs have made sure to keep the game fresh with new goodies to look forward to each month. 2021 is expected to be no different for the smash-hit mobile game, so here’s everything you need to know about Season 2.
When will CoD Mobile Season 1 end?
The all-new Reclaim map was just one of the cool, new things introduced in Season 1’s January 26 launch date. There was also plenty of new loot that you’d expect in the form of a new Battle Pass, weapons, characters, and cosmetics.
With the Season 1 Battle Pass is set to expire on March 10, Season 2 has been confirmed to kick-off with a bang sometime within the next week.
What content will be in CoD Mobile Season 2?
The official teases have started for the next season of Call of Duty Mobile, revealing some juicy details of what to expect.
New maps
A leak revealed that another Modern Warfare map is coming to the game. The chaotic Shoot House map underwent Beta testing in China to prepare it for its release in the mobile battle royale.
The developers presented the full layout of the map, along with some other details in an official blog post. While it’s small in size, the action is more concentrated so you’ll encounter your enemies more frequently.
Activision recently confirmed that the classic Nuketown map will return at some point, but they’ve yet to clarify when exactly this will be. While Nuketown Russia has been fun, many fans agree that there’s just no replacing the original.
In addition to this, we will also see the arrival of Shipment from Modern Warfare. It will probably replace the current Shipment 1944 map, and we expect that it will only stick around for a limited time.
New weapons
Season 2 is will introduce the SP-R 208 Marksman rifle from Modern Warfare 2019. While this weapon has declined in popularity recently, it still boasts an impressive reload speed and bolt action which makes it ideal for long and medium-range combat.
Another weapon that will be coming from Modern Warfare is the AS Val. This Russian rifle is suited for stealth combat due to its suppressor and is capable of dishing out a ton of damage to its target.
New game modes
Gunfight Sniper is a brand new game mode that will be coming to CoD Mobile in Season 2. As the name implies, it will have players face off against each other with sniper rifles equipped. There will be six players and six rounds in this mode.
A recent leak hinted at the developers working on an Among Us-themed game mode as well. While we don’t expect to see this implemented in Season 2, we might hear some updates about its status in the coming weeks.
Tank Battle will also be making its way to the battle royale, which means that we can expect some explosive action in the game’s maps.
CoD Mobile Season 2 theme
CoD Mobile is no stranger to cool themes that help shape the nature of a season. In the past, we’ve seen wars between different factions and even a Western theme too.
The theme of the latest season is ‘Day of Reckoning.’ The various new maps, weapons, and game modes reflect this particularly well.
That covers everything we know about CoD Mobile Season 2. We’ll keep you informed about any new updates and announcements from the developers.
