All new weapons in Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 Season 5
ActivisionThe Season 5 update is set to deliver a ton of fresh content to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, including some new guns to shake up the meta. Here’s a breakdown of every new weapon in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5.
Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 is set to arrive on Wednesday, August 2, and the devs have plenty in store for the update. Fans can expect Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage skins, alongside new multiplayer maps.
Season 5 is also expected to bring plenty of changes to the meta with a host of buffs and nerfs to the existing lineup of weapons, along with some exciting new guns for players to try out.
Many of these have already been revealed, so here’s every new weapon in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5.
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Season 5 new weapons
There will be a total of six new weapons released throughout Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5. Some of these will arrive at launch on August 2, while others will come later down the line in the mid-season update.
Although all of these new guns are making their first appearance in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, there are a couple that long-time CoD fans will recognize. Check them out below.
FR Avancer (Assault Rifle)
The first launch weapon arriving in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 is the FR Avancer, which players will recognize as the FMAS from MW2 2009. However, this time, the classic AR will be fully-automatic instead of the tricker three-round-burst fire rate from 14 years ago.
“With a blinding fire rate and exceptional maneuverability, in the right hands, this aggressive bullpup rifle can dominate the battlefield,” said the devs in the Season 5 blog. “This fast-firing bullpup rifle is a midrange behemoth that can neutralize targets quickly within a few dozen meters.”
The FR Advancer will be available for free from the Season 5 Battle Pass, although it isn’t confirmed which sector players will need to complete.
Carrack .300 (Sniper Rifle)
Joining the FR Avancer on day one of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 is the Carrack .300, yet another familiar face from 2009. This brand-new Sniper Rifle is heavily based on the WA2000, one of the deadliest long-range weapons from the original game.
“The Carrack .300 is a true Sniper Rifle with a semi-automatic, bullpup design,” explained the devs. “Effective even at the longest ranges, all it requires is an Operator who can take a deep breath, keep calm under pressure, and line up a shot to the head or upper chest.”
Just like the FR Advancer, the Carrack .300 will also be available to unlock through the Season 5 Battle Pass by completing a sector that is yet to be announced.
M13C (Assault Rifle)
Later on in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5, players will also have the opportunity to earn the M13C Assault Rifle. It’s set to be an even deadlier version of the M13B, which the devs described as “versatile and hard-hitting as a main weapon or sniper support secondary.”
There is currently no official release date for the M13C, but the Season 5 Reloaded update seems very likely. It remains to be seen if it will come as a later addition to the Battle Pass, or if it will be unlocked through in-game challenges.
Other new weapons in Warzone 2 & MW2 Season 5
On top of the three guns already mentioned, the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 blog also confirmed that three more weapons will arrive throughout the season. The only one of these to receive a name was the Pickaxe, a “simple, yet effective” melee weapon to use as a secondary.
It was also confirmed that a new SMG will be added into the mix, with the devs teasing that it will come with an integrated suppressor. However, this next close-range contender doesn’t currently have a name.
Finally, players will also receive a fresh face in the Pistol category, which is set to add “more flexibility and stopping power at mid-range.”
Those were all of the new weapons coming in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5. We’ll be sure to update this page with more details on the remaining guns as soon as they are available.
