Best FOV settings for Modern Warfare 2 Season 6
ActivisionIn Modern Warfare 2, you can customize your field of view by accessing the FOV slider located in the settings menu. In this guide, we’ll help you determine the best FOV settings to enhance your gameplay experience during Modern Warfare 2 Season 6.
Call of Duty is an intensely competitive game, and just like any other FPS in a competitive environment, you’ll want to maximize every available advantage against your opponents during Modern Warfare 2 Season 6.
Of course, having the best controller settings can help if you’re not the biggest fan of mouse and keyboard, but there’s also the field of view to account for, which players were extremely happy to see included on the console versions of Modern Warfare 2.
Having the best FOV settings in Modern Warfare 2 can greatly enhance your gameplay and experience, so here are our recommendations for the best FOV settings to use.
How to change your FOV in Modern Warfare 2
In the past, console players have been excluded from the FOV option, leaving the setting for PC players to tamper with. However, like Vanguard, Modern Warfare 2 allows console players to customize their FOV, which is a huge win.
In order to actually change your FOV in Modern Warfare 2, follow these steps:
- Launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Open up settings
- Select the ‘Graphics’ tab
- Look under the ‘View’ section for FOV settings
- Move the slider to your desired FOV
- Press the ‘Show More’ button for the ADS Field of View and Weapon Field of View Options
Best FOV for Modern Warfare 2
The Field of View option is set at 80 by default, but many find it way too low in terms of what they can see in-game.
FOV mostly comes down to preference, but our recommendation is anything between 105 to 115. This does depend on your setup, especially your screen/monitor size.
We recommend starting your FOV at 105, and increasing or decreasing the value as you see fit. Remember, increasing the value of your FOV will make it harder to see enemies at range, so play around with it until you’re comfortable with the FOV at both long-range and close quarters.
ADS Field of View
We recommend using the Affected ADS Field of View option, as this will give you a natural zoom regardless of your FOV setting when aiming down your sights.
Independent will exaggerate your ADS zoom, which can sometimes be off-putting when trying to stay on target.
Weapon Field of View
This setting will change the size of your weapon on the screen, adjusting the “height and width of the in-game weapon view.”
We recommend that players who have a higher FOV, anything over 95, should set this option to Wide. This will make your weapon look slightly smaller than the default, which allows more screen space for you to see what’s going on in front of you.
