FaZe Jev reveals Modern Warfare 2’s biggest problem
Popular Call of Duty content creator Jason ‘FaZe Jev’ Eugene has revealed Modern Warfare 2’s biggest problem.
CoD players have finally been given a taste of Modern Warfare 2 with the beta for PlayStation, with PC and Xbox fans also getting their chance to play on September 22.
While players have been getting to grips with the new Gunsmith and maps, most seem to have a lot of feedback about the gameplay, from wanting the classic minimap to calling for Call of Duty: Ghost’s Perk system.
Popular content creators and pros have also weighed in on their experience with the Modern Warfare 2 beta, and FaZe Jev believes he has identified the game’s biggest problem.
In his September 19 video, FaZe Jev gave his overall opinions on the Modern Warfare 2 beta, including the issues he has with the game, as well as the things he likes about the beta.
While the YouTuber thinks that the maps “flow a little bit more,” and that Modern Warfare 2 has definitely improved upon Modern Warfare 2019, FaZe Jev feels the biggest problem with the game is its pace.
FaZe Jev feels that the “movement speed…time to kill, the sprint to fire times, the Tactical Sprint to fire times” all make the gameplay slower, forcing players to feel like they “need to be ADSing first.”
Essentially, in the Modern Warfare 2 beta, players are punished for moving around the map fast, and those who are much slower are able to ADS faster, and therefore win the gunfight.
Jev feels this type of gameplay encourages a slow, campy playstyle, which is damaging the game’s pace. He feels that players would rather sit back and aim down their sights “waiting,” rather than move around the map, especially as slide canceling was also nerfed.
FaZe Jev also touches on issues like the muzzle flash and weapon recoil, stating that those aspects of the game are “crazy.” However, he places most emphasis on the slow speed of sprint out times and the fast TTK.
Remember, Modern Warfare 2 is still just in beta, and so all of these aspects of the game are still subject to change. We’ll have to wait and see what changes are made upon launch on October 28. For now, check out all of the Modern Warfare 2 pre-order bonuses.
