With the second weekend of the Modern Warfare 2 beta inbound, players will get the chance to try out the Ground War mode.

PlayStation players were lucky enough to gain early access to the Modern Warfare 2 beta, enjoying a variety of weapons and modes, while also providing Infinity Ward with feedback.

While the early access only gave players a small selection of weapons and modes to choose from, restricting the level to just rank 15, the second weekend of the Modern Warfare 2 beta is set to give players much more content along with a level increase to 30.

Players were able to enjoy Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, new modes Knockout and Prisoner Rescue, as well as the third-person mode.

In addition, players will be getting even more modes during the second weekend of the beta, as the Call of Duty blog has released guides for Hardpoint and the new Ground War mode Invasion.

Both Ground War and Hardpoint were played by streamers and content creators at Call of Duty Next, so it’s not surprising to see them in the beta. While Ground War is live and available to play now, Hardpoint isn’t quite there yet, but we expect it to be introduced soon.

The blog for the beta reveals details about Ground War’s new Invasion mode, which is essentially a huge Team Deathmatch with AI combatants played on Sariff Bay, a new 32v32 map with the opportunity to test MW2’s water mechanics and combat.

The blog also goes in-depth about the map, explaining the different areas and strategies players can adopt on Sariff Bay.

There’s also a blog about Hardpoint, which most experienced CoD players will be extremely familiar with. This fan-favorite mode sees players battling it out for a moving zone around the map. Teams gain points the longer they are in the zone and the team to reach the score limit first wins.
