Modern Warfare 2 custom Blueprint bug lets players skip weapon attachment grind
Modern Warfare 2 players have discovered a bug with custom Blueprints that allows them to skip the weapon attachment grind.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Reloaded has brought a bunch of new content to the game, from the return of Shipment, a brand-new game mode in Raids, and a new Assault Rifle to enjoy.
Infinity Ward also brought a variety of balance changes, bug fixes, and quality-of-life changes such as improvements to enemy visibility and the ability to save custom weapon Blueprints. Although the new update brought fixes, the feature to save custom weapon Blueprints is allowing players to skip the weapon attachment grind.
Players have discovered that by simply creating and saving custom weapon Blueprints in Private Matches, players can then use these loadouts in Public Matches.
In Private Matches, players are free to create their loadout without any restrictions, meaning every attachment and weapon is unlocked. This bug basically allows players to freely use attachments that they haven’t unlocked in Modern Warfare 2, essentially letting players skip the attachment grind.
All players need to do is go into a Private Match lobby, create and save a custom weapon Blueprint with whatever attachments they want, head back into a Public Lobby, and equip the saved Blueprint to one of their Custom Loadouts to use in-game.
This is likely to be patched very soon, as it basically means that everyone can skip the unlock challenge for the new Chimera Assault Rifle and deck it out with the best attachments to shred in multiplayer.
This was also a bug in Modern Warfare 2019 that has returned, and this isn’t the first time this has happened, leaving many players extremely frustrated. Under the comments of the CharlieIntel Twitter post, one player says “I honestly don’t know what they did for 3 years.”
We’ll have to wait and see when the devs patch this issue, but we’ll keep you updated as more information is available.
