Modern Warfare 2 devs buff attachment that doesn’t exist & players are baffled
Modern Warfare 2 players have noticed a buff in the Season 2 Reloaded update for an attachment that isn’t even in the game.
The Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded update brought some meaningful content to the game, from the Himmelmat Expo map, which players are curious to see in Ranked Play, to a powerful Marksman Rifle and a new Raid episode.
Like any big Call of Duty update, Season 2 Reloaded also brought a bunch of buffs and nerf to Modern Warfare 2’s weapons, refreshing the meta and leaving players to test things out, even affecting Warzone 2.
That said, players have noticed a strange buff for an attachment in the balance changes which is leaving them questioning the devs.
In the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded patch notes, an attachment called the “LM Nebula Barrel” for the Lachmann Sub received a buff to its damage range and recoil control. These buffs seem pretty strong, and so naturally players wanted to test this barrel out. However, the community quickly noticed that this barrel doesn’t even exist.
Reddit user KNEXIUM highlighted this on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit, saying: “fun fact: Infinity Ward just buffed a barrel that doesn’t even exist in game.”
In the post, one of the images explains what happened to the cut barrel, which seemed to be an “integrally suppressed barrel,” but it was removed since appearing in the Beta.
This has led to a lot of confusion in the community, as players in the comments express similar opinions, with one even saying, “I saw that in the patch notes and couldn’t figure out where to find it today. That’s f**king wild.”
Other players believe that the devs thought that “nobody uses it” and decided to buff it unknowingly, which another player stated, “shows they don’t even look at the game.”
Perhaps this is a barrel that the devs intend on bringing to the game down the line, or maybe this was an accidental buff, it’s hard to know. That said, players would like to see this suppressed barrel for the MP5, with one comment saying that they “always rocked that sh*t in previous games.”
