Modern Warfare 2 fans beg Infinity Ward not to include “dealbreaker” Vanguard mechanic
Call of Duty Vanguard is nearing the end of its seasonal content, and Modern Warfare 2 hype remains high. However, Vanguard has one hated weapon mechanic that players are begging Infinity Ward not to include.
While CoD players are desperate to try out Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, multiplayer, and leaked DMZ mode, they’re especially excited about the weapons. Infinity Ward are known for their smooth and realistic weapon animations, and players love the modern aesthetic.
However, players feel that Vanguard’s bloom mechanic could completely ruin Modern Warfare 2’s gunplay and be a “dealbreaker,” so they’re begging Infinity Ward not to include it.
Vanguard launched with a ‘weapon bloom’ mechanic, meaning that bullets don’t go exactly where you’re aiming — and there’s nothing you can do to completely eliminate it. It was eventually removed from Warzone and even though Sledgehammer dialed it back, it still exists in Vanguard Season 4.
Players have been considering what they want to see in Modern Warfare 2, and many agreed that it shouldn’t include bloom.
Reddit user derkerburgl kicked off the discussion on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit by asking Infinity Ward not to include bloom. They claimed that “Bloom is just an artificial way to dumb down the gameplay and make gunfights more random,” and “having bullets purposely shoot off target is just insane.”
“Bloom is the worst game mechanic ever invented. It’s literally ‘I missed that shot because rng and nothing skill related,'” explained mikerichh.
“This thing and this thing only is such a huge deal that can make me skip the entire game completely,” said Sockerkatt. “This should NOT be a thing.”
“Quite literally a dealbreaker for me as well,” revealed the OP. “I played MW19 and Cold War right up until the following cod but Vanguard I had to stop playing.”
It appears the bloom mechanic returning would go down like a cup of cold sick, and we’ll likely need to wait until Modern Warfare 2’s beta arrives to know if it’s back.
