Here’s everything you need to know about getting longshots in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer including the distance for each weapon type, as well as some top tips for easy longshots.

How to get easy longshots in Modern Warfare 2
We’d recommend queuing into Shipment to achieve Shotgun longshots in Modern Warfare 2 as the 30×30 meter map will offer plenty of opportunities, and you can also hop into Tier 1 Shipment to get some quick and easy longshot kills with Pistols.
For SMGs, Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles, LMGs, and Marksman Rifles, you should equip the weapon with recoil control and bullet velocity attachments then play Tier 1. Even the weakest weapons will kill fast in Tier 1 so your targets won’t be able to run away as easily.
Also, using the XTEN Angel-40 Optic allows you to see how far away your target is which makes adjusting your distance much easier.
Finally, you should head to Ground War to complete your Sniper Rifle longshots as the huge maps give you a ton of opportunities to hit targets that are 50m away or more. You don’t even need to go super long-range as 50m isn’t as far as you might expect — just look for the ‘Longshot’ indicator and you’ll know you’re at the correct range.
Getting longshots isn’t too difficult but it can be time-consuming and boring, so we’d recommend going from weapon class to weapon class so you’re not grinding out longshots for 51 weapons at once.
Hopefully, these tips will help you fly through all your longshot challenges in Modern Warfare 2, and you can also check out some of our other guides:
