Modern Warfare 2 Mastery Camos revealed in leak

Modern Warfare 2 players will soon be grinding through all of the weapons to unlock the Mastery Camos, and new leaks claim to show them off in all their glory.

Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer officially goes live on October 28, bringing over 50 weapons across 30 Platforms. While a ton of players will be looking to level up as many as they can ahead of Warzone 2 on November 16, the camo grind also returns.

Leakers have already indicated that there will be four Mastery Camos to grind, with content creator Metaphor describing them in detail. Now, with the campaign’s early access live, dataminers have reportedly found exactly what some of these Modern Warfare 2 Mastery Camos will look like.

According to Metaphor, Modern Warfare 2 will bring the classic Gold and Platinum camos along with “Polyatomic / Element” that looks like “shattered Dark Matter Ultra” and the space-themed “Orion.”

A few Gold weapons can be found in the campaign, but this new leak appears to show off Platinum and the Dark Matter lookalike as well.

The Gold camo covers the whole weapon in gold, looking more like Call of Duty 4 or Black Ops 1 than Modern Warfare 2019. And the Platinum has more to it as well, with silver cracks highlighting a metallic grey color.

The final camo is the shattered Dark Matter style. Although a similar texture to Modern Warfare 2019’s Obsidian, this camo is a dark blue or purple color.

Infinity Ward said to expect “reduced repetitiveness and reasonable challenges to unlock attachments and camouflage,” and have a “journey to Mastery” planned — likely the final camo that Metaphor described.

The camo challenges have reportedly been leaked as well, and they’re almost identical to Modern Warfare. There’s a good chance these were just placeholders, so we’ll likely need to wait until launch to see how much of a grind we’ve got in store.
